I Got The Red Ring Of Doom But I Found Out How To Fix It Without Having To Send My Console Off...
I was right in the middle of a good battle when all of a sudden my XBox just died! It had happened before but it was just an overheating problem and went away after my console cooled down.
This time was different, there were 3 flashing red lights instead of just 2. The dreaded XBox 360 red ring of doom!
I tried everything that I had done before and nothing worked. I was starting to panic. I could just see having to lay out a bunch of money I was saving for some new games just to get my XBox 360 fixed. Total bummer.
The good news is that I got it fixed and was back shooting away in less than two hours thanks to 3RedLightsFix.Info. Read on to find out what happened.
When I Got The Red Ring Of Doom...
I Found All Kinds Of Information On How To Fix The Ring Of Doom, But...
Image by Brian WrightA lot of the information I found was just crazy.
One of the things I found said that I should put my console in the oven at 350-370 degrees for about 5 to 10 minutes. Bake my XBox? Those are silicon chips not chocolate chips.
Another method I found said to wrap my XBox 360 in a towel or blanket and let it overheat. I could just see my XBox and maybe the house bursting into flames.
The reasoning behind these two methods is that there is a bad solder joint between the graphics card and the motherboard and heating my console up would melt the solder and make the two pieces join back together.
I am not a rocket scientist but my thinking is that if it will melt the solder in one spot, won't it melt the solder in a lot of other spots too?
I also found a method that told me to take my XBox 360 apart and get out my soldering iron to re-solder a bunch of stuff. I don't know about you but, although my soldering might be good enough to fix a toaster, I don't want to tackle the delicate stuff in my console.
I was about ready to just give up when my buddy Bryan told me about 3RedLightsFix.Info and that saved the day.
Yes, You Can Fix The Ring Of Doom Yourself
I Fixed My XBox 360 Ring Of Doom Myself With Some Help
I should say here that my XBox 360 was already out of warranty. If you crack open your console it will void your warranty if you have any left.I could have sent my console back to Microsoft to let them fix it, but it would have cost me about $140.00 plus shipping and I would have had to wait six to eight weeks to get it back.
I chose to download the guide and videos at 3RedLightsFix.Info and fix my ring of doom myself.
I found out that the guide and videos are put together by actual technicians that work on XBox 360 consoles every day. The videos are HD and took me step by step through the process of fixing my ring of doom.
The thing I like about it is that if my ring of doom ever shows up again, I already have the way to fix it. No more panic.
So, if you are here because your XBox 360 has the dreaded red ring of doom and you don't want to spend the money or wait the time to be back blasting away, you should go to 3RedLightsFix.Info and download the guide and videos. They saved the game for me and could do the same for you.
