"Frio River" Area
funrivers.com is devoted to informing others about the Texas Hill Country and more specifically the "Frio River" Canyon Area which includes Rio Frio, Leakey and Concan Texas. The "Frio River" and the Texas Hill Country is a great getaway for visitors across the country and even world. Our goal is to provide tourists and even locals a resource/portal to all the Lodging, Camping Sites, RV sites, Real Estate, Restaurants, Tent Sites, Stores and other accommodations in the area. Some may know the area because of the famous Garner State Park or heard about the beautiful white rocks and crystal clear water that encompass the Frio River.
The "Frio River" Canyon Area is also known for it's Rolling Hills, Cypress Trees, many species of Birds, Catfish, Beautiful Sunsets and Panoramic Views. Not too far away in Rocksprings is Devil's Sinkhole (Bat Cave) and down the road from our headquarters in Rio Frio holds one of the largest Live Oak Trees in Texas. Thousands come to the Frio River to tube, kayak, swim, ride, lounge, hunt, fish, hike, shoot videos/pictures, and most importantly- relax.
Many love the Frio Area so much, they end up buying Real Estate of their own so they always have a place to stay.
For over 30 years, our family has either lived or been coming to the "Frio River" Area and just within the last few years discovered many areas we never knew existed. One day while feeling adventurous, we ventured down and through HWY 83, Ranch Road/FM 1120 and 1050, CR 350 and CR 348 (River Road) in Leakey, Rio Frio and Concan. During our quest, we were amazed with the numerous beautiful camp and RV sites, lodges, river crossings, real estate, restaurants and stores, country club/golf course and even a helicopter ride. We figured if we didn't know of these places after decades of residence, probably many visitors and even locals didn't either- thus the creation of this lens and funrivers.com.
The Frio River at Concan is just an hour and half west of San Antonio and from Austin three hours southwest through the Hill Country to the Frio River crossings at Leakey. Mid-way between Leakey and Concan is historic Rio Frio and Texas' famous Garner State Park. The Frio River area is the perfect destination for all seasons and offers very affordable accommodations. Also nearby, are the beautiful towns of Utopia, Camp Wood, Vanderpool, Bandera, Medina, Kerrville, and Fredericksburg.
Besides river recreation and hunting, the Frio River Area is busy with Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha and big Harley-Davidson motorcycles and every kind of bicycle. It's a great place to ride now or any time of year and one of the most biker friendly areas around. Come join the fun at the Frio now!
And why not? It's one of America's Fun Rivers!
About funrivers.com
funrivers.com launched in August of 2007 and has grown exponentially since our birth. We began just as a portal to the Rio Frio area to provide tourists and even locals information for as many businesses as possible in the vicinity. We have since grown to building websites, advertising/marketing, and designing brochures and car magnets for our clients. Our goal is to be the #1 resource for the Frio Canyon Area which includes Rio Frio, Leakey and Concan Texas by providing every lodging, camping, RV Site, and other Rio Frio accommodations. We are always spreading the word of the Texas Hill Country and Frio Area, rather it be through our online efforts or our flyer distributions. We would be selfish not to share what we enjoy everyday!

The Frio Life!
Lounging at the Frio River
The above photo was shot a Mager's Crossing on CR 350. The picture on the right is in Concan on the banks of Neals/Buchanan's River Frontage. Both photos taken by funrivers.com Many vacationers enjoy tubing, kayaking, fishing, while others grab a chair, canopy, football and set up camp on the white rocks next to the river. It is common to see hundreds at each of the crossings lounging in the cool clear waters enjoying the Frio River Life. Featured Accommodations in The Frio River Area
