RocketMoms ROCK Squidoo
RocketMoms was an idea pioneered on Squidoo. The idea was to capture and cultivate the best from the Work At Home Moms that seemed to dominate the number of lenses created on the site.
The first session of RocketMoms was 6 weeks long. There was an assignment given on Monday of each week. We had the full 6 weeks to complete all the assignments. The really cool part was that we also had "EXTRA CREDIT" assignments we could do each Friday that also counted toward graduation! So if you did them all you would end up with 12 new lenses by the 6 weeks end. Those on their way to Giant Squid status soon found their niche and burrowed in! We had lots of new Giant Squid come from that first RocketMoms class! That is quite an achievement for anyone!
Contents at a Glance
Our RocketMom Leader

As of this writing, RocketMoms have produced over 1,000 lenses in just the first and second sessions of RocketMoms. That being said, there is an enormous amount of work that goes into the RocketMoms group. The bulk of that work falls to our leader and friend, Bonnie (bdkz). Bonnie is a Giant Squid Organizer and the RocketMoms Organizer here on Squidoo. To be completely honest, I don't have a clue how she does it all! She is Wonder Woman in my eyes!
I owe quite a bit to Bonnie. Without her I may have never known How to make a profit on Zazzle or that you can find barbed wire and other Unique Toilet Seats!!
My RocketMom Experience

On Friday April 17th at exactly 12:51 pm EST I became a member of the first ever group of RocketMoms! After 6 weeks, under Bonnie's tutelage and some help from Giants and Angels alike, June 3rd, 2009, I was a RocketMom Graduate!
Let me tell you how much this changed my experience at Squidoo. When I first joined RocketMoms, I had 8 lenses that were a little sad. By the time graduation rolled around for the first session, I had 28 ROCKING lenses!
We were invited to stick around for the second session and on graduation day, I had 52 lenses created. I am on my way to Giant Squid status! I have applied and will keep my fingers crossed! In the meantime, I will continue to create well crafted lenses. I do so want one of those purple badges!
My next "Pride and Joy" achievement was to be asked to be a "Big Sister" in the third session of RocketMoms. There is not much that will give me greater pleasure over the next 8 weeks. I am excited and I hope these new RocketMoms are ready for a great trip!
RocketMom Groups
There are many groups that have sprung up inside RocketMoms. Please be assured, these are only a few of those many! There are approximately 25 more that you can see for yourself if you are a mom! Join RocketMoms, we would love to see you there!
I am not sure how or why this woman was let into RocketMoms. Did you know she got scared reading this lens and her family had to rush into the room?
In truth, Correen aka clouda9 is a doll with a wicked sense of humor! She is a wonderful friend and will be a Giant 100 very soon! Coreen began a RocketMoms group for Photo of the Week!
Is there anyone on Squidoo who hasn't met our friendly little Sandyspider? Sandy has started a group for RocketMoms Who are Rockin' Zazzle! Sandy was one of the first people I "met" on Squidoo and I am thankful for her friendship. She is another Giant! Watch her go!
Another well loved group is RocketMoms Furry Children appropriately headed up by The Party Animal! The Party Animal burst on the scene in the second session of RocketMoms and has rocked the house ever since! She has at this time 181 lenses and is sporting that nifty new Giant 100 badge!!
One is the Stay at Home RocketMoms group. This group is run by our very own NanLt! Nan feverishly worked her way to Giant Squid during the first session of RocketMoms! With 107 lenses currently under her belt, she will be showing off that Giant 100 badge soon! Way to go!
Should There Be A Group of Rocket Males?
You've been reading and hearing all about Rockemoms for a while now. Should a man finally pick up the baton and run with it?
Should There Be A Group of Rocket Males?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byYes, men should be recognized in their own group in the Squidoo Community.

I agree with EJA and can't wait to read about RocketDads, RocketDudes or RocketGuys...but I do like having our "own space"...it's kinda like a club house and there's nothing wrong with excluding boys and nothing stopping them from making their own group. I'd be the 1st to cheer them on for doing so.

I would be a shame if men were deprived of all the help we Rocket Moms get.

I think there should be RocketDads, RocketSingles, RocketPetlovers, RocketWriters, etc.

How Important is RocketMoms?

RocketMoms, in my opinion, is one of the premiere groups on Squidoo. It takes the largest demographic on Squidoo and gives them a place to gather and learn from each other. It also allows them to speak in a group that will understand their concerns.
This is a unique opportunity for any mom. Being in a group of women who have been or are soon to be where you are allows you to see a fuller picture of many things. If the opportunity is used to it's fullest it presents a chance to make lifelong friends.
The group is made up of moms of all ages and walks of life. There are newbies, Angels, Giants and everyone in-between that walk these halls. Everyone has a goal and RocketMoms is a great vehicle to make sure these goals are reached.
I will forever be grateful for the email that changed my life.
Tribes

Seth Godin - The Tribe Leader
You have most likely heard talk of "Tribes" or groups. Here is your chance to understand a lot more about how those work. What can being a member of a tribe do for you? How do you fit into it's community? Are you a leader? Try reading Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us and then Unleashing the Ideavirus. You will find that you now know it all fits together and your part in the Squidoo Society.
