How do you find out if the roadmap you selected will make money? How do you know if it's a roadmap to affiliate success?

There's no guarantee that if it made money for someone else, following it will make money for you. But you can increase your chances if you choose a blueprint that has made money for many affiliates.

Closely aligned with this criteria is the author/guru's credibility. Checking out the plan also verifies the author/guru's reputation for money-making.

Three Sources to Check.
1. Forums (free)
People who produce bogus blueprints are quickly identified in online forums. So find the internet/affiliate marketing forums in google, join several, and use the search tools on the blueprint or author's name.

Note: Sometimes you have to be careful with these forum posts. Complaints are tricky if it is written by a lazy person who expected to get rich by turning on the laptop. Since identifying one of these naysayers can be difficult, check several forums and mentally weigh the opinions.

2. Online Clubs (usually a membership fee)
Fast Track Online Clubs provide training and tools (examples are keyword search, web site builder, forums). The key benefit of an online club is the synergy of the group of experts. They have forums and an abundant number of gurus.

3. Google Scam check (free)
Google the author's name and the blueprint name. You will pick up reviews and possibly a few forum posts. Read carefully anything that talks about scams.

How can you test a roadmap to affiliate success?

The best way would be to get a copy of the blueprint and try it out for say, a month. Unfortunately, authors are usually not willing to take the chance with information products of this type. So they offer samples and guarantees.

Samples
Some authors give samples of their material. Check out the sample - is it easy to read? Does it provide value? If it's full of jargon you do not understand or is just a product pitch, move on.

Guarantee
What you must have is a product guarantee. If it's not returnable if you are dissatisfied, don't buy it. Some vendors make it a long-drawn out process to get your money back; you'll see this type of disgruntled buyer speaking out online.

Understanding the Roadmap Directions
If you buy a roadmap to affiliate success, you expect to get to affiliate success - right? Your GPS gives you UNDERSTANDABLE directions from point A to point B - so should the roadmap.

What if the GPS had an accent you could not understand or spoke a foreign language? Some blueprints suffer from technical jargonese which is the same as the GPS speaking a language you cannot understand. Web babytalk is as bad as too much detailed jargon - look out for oversimplication to reach a wider audience.

Level of Detail
Your roadmap to affiliate success should have the level of detail to get the job done. Task level details work the best. For example, you need to get these three activities completed before you expect to see traffic. Then the three activities must contain sufficient detail so you can do them.

The most reliable way to find out if the plan has a sufficient level of detail is to buy it and try it for a reasonable period of time, usually 30 days.
As long as you dedicate the time to following the blueprint's activities, you should be able to use it at your individual skill level. If you can't do it, get your money back.

Support is VERY important to a person starting out in affiliate marketing. The roadmap to affiliate success should allow for some kind of support - an email system or better still, a phone number.

When you're trying out the product, make sure you try the support system. Email a question and see how long it takes to get a response. If it takes more than 24 hours or you get no response at all, it's not a good support system.

Bold claim, wouldn't you say? Truth is, affiliate marketing is not that hard. The reason so many people have problems is because they make too many mistakes with their marketing. In this article, I'm going to point out just a few of the most common things that affiliate marketers do that end up making things very difficult for them. Okay, the very first thing you have to stop doing is jumping on the flavor of the day. You know what I'm talking about. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with canned ads if you at least make some changes to them. But no, most affiliates just take the ad and do nothing but change the link in them. That's it. That's their contribution to the process. Think about this logically. If everybody uses the same canned ads, how does anybody stand out from the crowd? They don't. The only affiliates who DO stand out are the ones that make their own ads. Make sense?
