Across the road from Olde Beau is Nikolas, a real nice place to eat. Many people love to go to the State Road National Park.

Right down the road from Olde Beau there is a riding place. Kids love it. You pay a fee and the owners let you ride their horses and they help you if you are a beginner. That is a fun place.

There is a wonderful Wellness Center in Sparta.

Elkin which is the other direction has several nice restaurants and shopping. It is about 13 miles back toward I-77. We never get bored. I think Blowing Rock and Boone are about one hour or 1 1/2 hours away mountain driving.
