Rambling on about Robins

Raving about the Robins around your Yard!

From the lens Robin in the Rain!.

Have you seen any robins yet this year?

We have robins year round in California

I so enjoy watching the robins in the yard, and yes, especially after a soft spring rain. I even featured a robin on one of my poetic creations on my Lyrical Impressions lens. I am selecting your Robin in the Rain for the "Think Spring" Squidoo Quest.

I love Robins. One of the joys of homeschooling, is that we get to study the different birds around. Robins, Robin red breast specifically robin red breast. thank you for your robins and the rain!

My brother once raised a robin. He taught her how to hunt for worms, but he did it at night with a flashlight. He eventually let the robin go at our church. It was somewhat funny, but for a while, we would see a few robins hunting for worms at night in front of the lights at our church! Very nice lens!

Our robins follow me around the yard when I have the hose out. They actually are quite brave and will come within a few feet of me when I'm working in the beds.

Excellent lens! - Lots of Robins in Oxfordshire, England. I saw one perched on the handle of a spade in our garden just the other day - looking very content. Plenty of food around for them at this time of the year.

Fun and informative lens. We see some robins here, along with sea gulls, egrets, sand cranes, doves, ibis, and lots of mocking birds. The last few days, there has been a woodpecker pecking away at a telephone pole. He's not getting very far, though!

I live near Salt Lake City, Utah and I am seeing robins out in the snow. They don't seem to mind it. With spring, we had a few warm days and new grass is out...I am sure they are enjoying the new grass. Love your work. Here is my spring Angel blessing....nice work.

I get such a kick out the Robins in our bird baths. A few years ago, we provided the birds with 3 in-ground little ponds and have noticed that the Robins always choose the two smaller ponds to splash up a storm in--often their arrival interupts the baths of smaller birds who adapt and either move to the other small pond or jump down to the bigger one that has rocks to provide altering water levels. I especially enjoy when the Robins stretch out their wings as they lay in the grass--every year I think, "oh no, an injured Robin", but then I realized it is just splayed out after a refreshing bath. Any time seems to be the right time for a Robin to bathe from early morning to dusk and they seem to go in the water at illogical times when it is quite chilly out.
I totally enjoyed my visit here and have that refreshing feeling we all get at seeing the first Robin of the spring. Speaking of that, here in the northland I've noticed the Robins arriving quite early, as we still have snow and I always worry that they won't find enough to eat--so will dig in the gardens around the house to supply worms. I do notice they eat the berries in the hoppa crab.
