Ain't He Great?

Why so unforgiving, and why so cold?  Been a long time crossing Bridge of Sighs.....  anthem of our age.  To hear this man play is a mezmerizing stream of lyrical delight.  Chompable even - like you can snatch his riffs outta thin air, chew a little and feel your tummy get warm and full.  He's one of the greatest guitar heroes ever!  Yay Robin - play it!

My Reasoning

He's got the touch of a Master.

His guitar strains can take you into paradise.

This Legend can still rock with the best of 'em.

The Ones You Might Have Missed....

With well over 50 album titles to his name, not including Procol Harum releases, OurRobin has been prolific to say the least. Here are two of my all time favorites that you may have overlooked.

In City Dreams 1977
This CD could well be considered the defining album of Rockycha. With a myriad of sweet fretboard touches, a bit of flange, a wah wah here & there - I am these melodies. InCity is a full range of hard rock intermixed with a mystical tenderness grooving straight into my soul.

Were I to venture a guess, I'd say that Robin was truly in love with some beautiful lady at this point in his career - we're shot directly into the workings of his heart in songs like "Sweet Wine of Love" (my wedding song) and "Little Girl". The woeful bluesy whining in these riffs propels Robin's GuitarMastery into other dimensions, carrying us along.

True Rockers won't be disappointed in this disc either. "Farther Up The Road", originally from Bobby "Blue" Bland in 1957, is a rocking standard cover best at full volume. "Somebody Callin" and "Fallin Star" smooth a mix of Hendrix style fingerlays into some great shuffles.

"Bluebird" is so crisp and gentle, I can literally hear the snow fall, see my breath. Truly a winter paradise tune. A masterpiece if there ever was one.

Take What You Need 1988
Davey Pattison's vocals make this album come alive. Those vocals combined with that distinct strat flair that we've come to adore, you've got a superb mix in this presentation. "Take" was considered Trower's comeback cd in '88, and this collection reiterates every ounce of his skill and talent.

The moanful sound of the title tune sears his longing into us and the next tune "I want ya home" rocks the listener straight back up into delight. I'm nearly in tears when Davey sings "Over You" - just so deliciously sad. Go ahead, preview all these tunes on the link below. You'll see that this cd is one jewel that reminds you of RobinMagic all over again.
