How To Play Robot Unicorn Attack

Instructions for chasing your dreams

Robot Unicorn by Doctor-Ninja-Potter on DeviantARTRobot Unicorn Attack is a very simple game to play and over very quickly when still learning!

Scoring
You get three wishes (lives) and earn points for each fairy, star and dolphin you 'burst' as well as for every moment you keep running.

Rainbow Fairies are worth 10 points (and then increase with every consecutive fairy - 30 for the 3rd, 50 for the 5th, and so on - resetting to 10 when you miss one)
Crystal Stars start at 100 points and follow the same pattern.

Sparkling Dolphins appear every 5000 points.

Instructions for playing Robot Unicorn Attack from the game itself

The Z and X keys are the only ones you use while playing. R resets/restarts your current wish.

  • Z is the 'okay' button to start the game, and allows you to jump (or double-jump in mid-air). You can hold it down to jump for longer.

  • X is the 'dash' or 'rainbow attack' button and allows you to go super fast (and turn your unicorn into a blurred rainbow). You also need to use it to break the stars (or the star will break you and you will fail to catch your dreams).

    Tips

  • Beware of the stars, they will kill you.
  • You'll often need to double-jump to get between floating islands - wait until the unicorn starts arcing down again, or is definitely at the peak of its jump, otherwise you 'waste' the jump and faaaall...
  • You can keep jumping/flying for as long as you like but beware of walls hanging down from above.
  • Beware of walls, they will also kill you.
  • Don't overuse the dash (X) because it doesn't matter how fast you go, and you'll run into things by mistake. Just wait for stars and dash through them.
  • You can dash in mid air
  • You can jump over Crystal Stars (but this counts as missing them and your points for next star go back to 100)
  • Don't land on a star, it will kill you.
  • The Rainbow Fairies hover right over or just before, the beginning of each new 'island' so aim for those if you aren't sure where to land.
