Rob Zombie

Ranked #12,617 in Music, #340,687 overall

Through hit solo records like his 2006 release Educated Horses, and two unforgettable films under his direction, House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, Rob Zombie continues to conquer the darker and more twisted recesses of pop culture. His next release will be the animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

In 2006 the Rob Zombie was asked to revisit the Halloween film series created by John Carpenter, and in 2007 his vision of the night Michael Myers came home will hit theatres everywhere.

About Rob Zombie and Influences

Rob Zombie was born Robert Cummings on January 12, 1965 in Havenhill Massachusetts. In the 80's he pursued professions in publishing and supported himself through various jobs, and even worked as a production assitant on Pee Wee's Playhouse. Rob Zombie Movies on DVD

Heavily influenced by his love of horror films, Rob Zombie brought his first shocker to the screen with 2002's House of 1,000 Corpses. Inspired by 70's horror and exploitation films, the film was violent, but not nearly as graphic as some reviewers had claimed. It tells the story of two young couples who end up at Captrain Spaulding's gas station one stormy night. The clown gives them a tour of his carnival-style Murder Ride and stirs their imaginations with the tale of local legend Dr. Satan. They soon find themselves stranded and at the mercy of the psychotic Firefly family; realising that the bogeyman is real, and they may yet meet the sadistic Dr. Satan.

Starring:
Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding
Bill Moseley as Otis
Sheri Moon as Baby
Matthew McGrory as Tiny

The Devil's Rejects is not a direct sequel, but a companion film featuring many of the same characters in a new story. This time the Firefly family is pursued by Sheriff John Quincy Wydell (William Forsythe), who it turns out has some sadistic desires of his own in seeing the family punished for their murdrous crimes, including the death of his brother (played by Tom Towles).
