Rochester NY Restaurants

When my wife and I go out to eat we always go to owner operated restaurants. Whether or not we are familiar with the owner of the establishment we feel a little more at home especially knowing our dollars are going into the local economy.
Many of our local taverns and pubs I feel are the best choices for value and many offer coupons in the local newspaper for certain amount off a menu item or perhaps a free dessert.
My personal favorites include the Elmwood Inn on Mt Hope ave and the Distillery which is right up the street them. Dont forget Hogans Hideaway on Park Avenue and the Park Avenue Pub (a little more upscale) Jeremiah's tavern on Monroe Ave is also a solid favorite.
The Elmwood has the best beer selection out of all of them (32 drafts) and is always served ICE COLD.
The menu is varied with a nice selection of appetizers(excellent chicken wings) good sandwiches and dinner selections include a prime aged NY strip steak which is only $16.95
