Rock Band Returns with Heart Thumping Musical Action
Rock Band 2 allows players to perform in virtual bands by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different peripherals modeled after music instruments (a guitar peripheral for lead guitar and bass guitar gameplay, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). These peripherals are used to simulate the playing of rock music by hitting scrolling notes on-screen. In addition to the 84 songs included on the game disc and 20 free downloadable songs, hundreds of additional downloadable songs are being released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions (read more)

My wife drummed so loudly in Rock Band 1, I'd have to put on headphones to play (she just rocks too hard for my sensitive ears). That said, I still like to play the drums, especially now since they've been upgraded in RB 2. In Gizmodo's review of Rock Band 2's peripherals they called the updated instruments not a necessity but "a bonus for people who were patient enough to wait for Rock Band 2."

- Fully Complete - including all power ups, every note, and the full note streak. If you play and you strum accidentally where there is no note and reset your streak, but don't miss any notes in the song, you would still get 100%, but this would not be FC.
- Will I be able to import songs from my Rock Band 1 disc?
- Owners of the Xbox 360 edition of Rock Band 2 will have to pay $5 in order to import "most" of songs from the original. The import functionality also requires players to have the original Rock Band disc, as those songs will be installed on the hard drive. After that initial installation, the Rock Band 1 disc is not needed to play the tracks in Rock Band 2.
- What is the Rock Band 2 Release Date for Wii, PS3 and PS2?
- Rock Band 2 on Wii and PS2 have an expected release date on Tuesday 18 November 2008. A version of the game for the PlayStation 3 will be released on Tuesday Oct 19, 2008.

Overall this is an easy decision to buy if you have the original Rock Band, as your old instruments are usable and at the very worst, it's 84+20 new songs for only $60.
