Rock Climbing Clothes

Rock climbing is grown into a very popular sport worldwide. When going rock climbing, there is specific clothing and gear that goes with it. There are a wide variety of rock climbing clothes that include rock climbing shorts, long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shirts, hats, shoes and more.

Some of the rock climbing gear includes ropes and harnesses as well as other safety gear that allow climbers to climb safely. Today, rock climbing is popular both indoors and outdoors as there are indoor rock climbing gyms that provide rock climbing walls for people to practice on. These rock climbing gyms do not require as much equipment and if you are lacking in safety gear, it should be available for rental.

Rock climbing clothes make workout gear and are needed to be both durable and comfortable. Rock climbing clothes do need to be more form fitting, however, so that they do not get in the way, and they also need to be stretchy so that the person can move freely within them.

Climbing is my passion: I'm currently road-tripping the desert southwest for winter, and in season at the Gunks, I live on the preserve as a caretaker! I like most Columbia pants, but their shirts are always cut way too small. Same with Prana.... shirts too tight!

May I be honest with you? Never in a million years would I attempt rock climbing -- I'd rather go fishing ... but some of the clothes do look "inviting" for possibly transitioning to other sports -- maybe camping and hiking. As you might know I have an injured hand from the trunk slamming on it ... so I am a bit more protective of my important "body parts" these days. Hey, Happy New Year my dear!

It really can be dangerous. I had a friend in Arizona who was not wearing a helmet and cracked his skull. Thankfully he is ok now. That same friends friend is the guy who was climbing alone and had to cut his arm off with a pocket knife when he fell and got his arm broken and stuck in some rocks. Look for a future lens about rock climbing safety =)
