Close the doors, put out the light

back to list

This evening, your child's journey consists of a delicate dreamscape woven in the heavens and forged by the hammer of the gods. Hasn't it been a long time since your baby rock and rolled?

Tracks Include: Stairway to Heaven, Over the Hills and Far Away, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Thank You, D'yer Mak'er, Ten Years Gone, Kashmir, Dazed and Confused, Going to California, No Quarter, The Rain Song

back to list

These lullaby renditions of Nirvana's best-loved songs turn the volume way down, while turning up the dreaminess of their pop hooks. In many ways, this album echoes the simple pleasures and innocence of infancy and childhood. Childish tra-la-la's tempered the distortion of Nirvana's own songs. Chimes, glockenspiels and other gentle instruments temper Nirvana's wild spirit for your little one. "Smells Like Teen Spirit?" Smells like nap time.

Bono and the Sandman make strange bedfellows, but entertaining ones.

back to list

If you've been operating under the impression that songs with the word "bloody" in the title can't make for good lullabies, guess again: given the Baby Rock treatment, "Sunday Bloody Sunday" sounds infant-tested, sandman-approved. "All I Want is You" is a little on the snuggly side to begin with, after all, and so is "The Sweetest Thing." No matter how high the bar is set, what's consistent about this series is its knack for getting eyelids to drooping and rock fans to chuckling.

Tracks Include: Sunday Bloody Sunday, All I Want is You, Beautiful Day, One, With or Without You, I Still Haven't Found What I Am Looking For, Angel of Harlem, Where the Streets Have No Name, New Year's Day, Desire, The Sweetest Thing
