MTV has a new way for you to enjoy your favorite songs and it's called Rock Band. The game is the latest offering in the video gaming industry and is hot on the heels of it's number one competitor, Guitar Heroes. Though there are some basic similarities between the two the Rock Band video game has a couple of advantages that may give Guitar Hero a run for its money.

Rock Band the game seems to trump its competitor in the instrumental department. While Guitar Hero comes with only one guitar game controller the Rock Band bundle comes with a guitar controller, a bass guitar controller, a drum set and a microphone. With all these extras you and three of your friends can play together and crank out those tunes.

One of the biggest features that Rock Band the game may have to boast about is its customizable and expandable play list. Each week MTV will make available new songs that players can download to their Rock Band video game. You can customize your play list to suit your musical tastes and you'll never get tired of your Rock Band song list because you can add new material every week.

So are there any disadvantages to the Rock Band video game? Well, the most obvious one may be its inability to keep up with demand. Apparently only a little over 1 million Rock Band bundles are being released in time for Christmas so there could be severe shortages well before Christmas comes. Knowing this, those who plan to have Rock Band the game under your Christmas tree this year had better buy very early to avoid disappointment.
