Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero
I grew up on the aweseomeness that is Guitar Hero. It took what videos games had to offer and said "no, I think there's better out there" and has proven it's point solidly. However, no game will stay king forever. Rock Band has made a solid argument too (especially since the same people made it), and it rocks pretty hard. What do you say?

Now that RB2 has been officially been announced, based on current knowledge and complete speculation, which one will win, the new Guitar Hero expanding it's roots, or the sequel to the band game pioneer?

The battle of the features!
So, as you go about trying to decide which game to devote yourself to, a very important factor (easily the second most important behind the setlist) is the features that are promised to be in game.Rock Band 2 - The features for Rock Band 2 seem to focus on the drums. There will a new Drum Trainer, to teach you the proper way to play all those tricky beats, as well as a Jam Mode that will allow you play over MP3 track downloaded to your console. So, not only will you be able to play the game's songs, but you can even learn to drum over any song that you own.
Guitar Hero: World Tour - By far the biggest excitement with this new edition of the series is the Create a Song feature. This program will allow you to create your own songs from preselected sounds with charts for Guitar, Bass/Rhythm and Drums (no voice). You can even upload these songs to a central server where anyone can download them. There will also be a voting system so that you can only download the best ones.

$300 is just for the ION Drum set. For just $30 you can get the expansion pack for the RB2 drumset that comes with the bundle. Not quite $300, and we get more pads and cymbals. Nice try, but that argument just doesn't work.

3. GH3 was not updated nor patched at all. Shows you the kind of dedication that Activision has to its fans.
RB1 songs will be available for RB2. GH3 songs? NO.
4. Judging from this thread alone, RB people are more, shall we say, introspective than theie counterparts, so I'd probably prefer to play with them. :)

Rock Band is visually more superior. The characters on Guitar Hero are ridiculous. Rock Band allows you to create your character so you aren't stuck with the stupid looking ones. The songs that Rock Band has aren't just about being hard rock, they are fun to play. Isn't that what it's all about? Having fun, not just making songs hard to play where you can't ever beat it? Rock Band is the better choice.

Hey Knox. Do some research. Harmonix made GH, GH3 and GH the 80s. They made Rock Band also.
Neversoft made a make your own Skatepark tool in Tony Hawk also because people thought they wanted it. It was a very indepth complicated tool. The general opinion was that it wasn't worth the time. I believe history will repeat itself.

The Rock Band has no improvements arguement doesn't hold water. It does have improvements, but also we don't want them to change it. We like how it is. All we want was them to make onine world tour, and fix a couple of issues, which they've done. But they did manage to put in a few improvements.

You're also wrong because you cannot edit the songs that come on the disc. Perhaps you should head over to http://www.gametrailers.com/game/6785.html and watch the 3 music editor walkthroughs. It gives a glimpse there into what the editor is capable of.
Of course if you don't care about it that's fine, but don't spread false information.
