Rocket Spanish Reviewed | Is Rocket Spanish All It's Cracked Up To Be?
Rocket Spanish - I used this product last summer since my circumstances kind of forced me into it. I was going to Barcelona for a couple months after I finished the college semester and I figured that Spanish was probably a good thing to know...
The bad part is I came to this "realization" about two and a half weeks before I was leaving!
Here is my review of Rocket Spanish. Do you think it passed the test of me living in Spain for two months without any translation devices? Check it out...
What's This All About?

Software-based learning games;
Downloadable grammar lessons & exercises that are fully-illustrated;
Access to an online Forum where a whole community of Spanish teachers and learners come together for a common cause - conversational fluency in Spanish in the shortest time possible.
Bottom Line: Rocket Spanish teaches you Spanish...fast :-)

Here's what it includes...
As I said, I didn't know a lick of Spanish before getting Rocket Spanish
Rocket Spanish can take a total newbie and transform them into a fluent speaker and avid reader of this romantic language
I enjoy Rocket Spanish because it allows the student a high level of interactivity. I don't know about you, but part of the reason I procrastinated with learning the language was because I couldn't stand learning from a book (and I didn't have the money for a class).Right now I would say I am intermediate at best with Spanish. But the good thing is that I can still work through Rocket Spanish until I can consider myself a pro.
There's two different packages of Rocket Spanish:
One is the instant download version (this is way cheaper - obviously the one I went with :-)
The second package is the hard copy version. This is where you get the CD's, DVD's, and books sent to your door. This package costs more and you have to pay an extra $50 for shipping and handling.
What do I recommend?
If I were you, I would just stick with the instant download version. It's cheaper and you don't have to wait a month for it to come in the mail (obviously I didn't have that long to wait!)
And all of the program files are backed up on the Rocket Spanish website. So if you lose any of them, you can just go back to it an re-download the ones you lost.
Here's what Rocket Spanish includes:
*31 Interactive Step-by-Step Audio Lessons* -Definitely my favorite part of the package*500+ Pages of Written Material*
*400+ Exercises*
*300+ Pages of Beginner and Advanced Grammar*
*Image Vocabulary Recognition Game* -This one's actually really fun
*Audio Vocabulary Recognition Game*
*Flash Cards*
So Did It Pass?
Did Rocket Spanish allow me to survive in a Spanish city for 2 months?
Well after a rough start, I am happy to say Yes.
By rough start I mean that I directed my driver to 3 different hotels until I finally resorted to getting out a photo of my hotel and frantically pointed at it.
Yes I know...I took the easy way out. But give me a break; It was late, and this guy was making a fortune off me!
After I got comfortable with the speed (people in Spain talk FAST :-) I was able to communicate fairly well with the people of Barcelona.
I definitely recommend Rocket Spanish to anyone who's traveling through Spain, or even if you just want to learn it for fun.
