RocketMoms Graduate - Session 5

The main idea of this challenge was to create a lens about something I am passionate about. There are several areas that I could have written about, but I chose gardening. I already have 4 other gardening lenses. I wanted to do something a little different. I chose to write about AeroGrow Indoor gardens. These systems allow you to grow herbs, flowers, and vegetables year round. No worries about winter weather. All you need is a small space to put them. The fragrances that are produced by these indoor gardens are an added bonus to having fresh herbs and vegetables.

The RocketMoms organizer, Bonnie, was making it easy for me to contribute to this challenge. Cooking is another passion of mine. My daughter had just called me and asked for my chili recipe. It was a cold January day and I had decided to make the chili myself. Hence, the lens. I gathered all the ingredients, got the camera, and photoed the process. I even told about my "secret" ingredient.

RocketMoms joined forces with a new blog, Squidoo Music. Our assignment was to create a music lens and submit it to the appropriate genre at Squidoo Music Awards. I had already written 2 music lenses, a jazz lens and a rock lens. I love many genres of music, so for this assignment I chose country music.

Knowing the RocketMoms' natural curiosity, Bonnie challenged us to "ask a question". I struggled with coming up with a topic for this assignment. I was looking over my list of lenses and decided I needed to add another lens to my nursing series. I had recently added new nursing related products to my Zazzle store. So I asked the question, Need Gifts For Nurses? I highlighted all the designs for products for nurses. Check them out!

Have you tried the Squid Quiz template? It is so much fun and a really easy way to write a lens. Sometimes I worry about myself with some of the things I do to find a topic for a lens. I had just read the Lens of the Day, 5 Great Ways to Use Seven Great Modules. I went to the list of all the modules available from Squidoo. I counted 173. I noticed many of them could be used for the same purpose, so I wrote this quiz lens.

Is it the end of Session 5 already? It can't be six weeks so soon! The final assignment for Session 5 is to create a travel lens. It can be about a local attraction, a vacation destination, your last vacation, or somewhere you want to go. I had recently gone through my pictures looking for ideas for new Zazzle products. I had created products from a picture of Mount Rushmore. It is such an amazing national monument. It's pretty impressive. I was there in 2005 when I traveled cross-country from Seattle to North Carolina.

Bonnie is such a generous woman. She knows that not all topics will inspire everyone, so she offers extra credit. Usually there is only one extra credit offer, but this session she offered 2. The first extra credit was to create a Valentine lens using the new Valentine's Day template. It is such a cool template with all the hearts and red fonts. The second extra credit was offered because of the release of Seth Godin's new book, Linchpin. Who do you consider a Linchpin?
