Women on Squidoo Create Lenses to Support Humanitarian Causes

The 2010 earthquake in Haiti was the inspiration for this page, or lens as we call them on Squidoo. January 2011 was the one year anniversary and the 2nd anniversary will be here soon. In the past year natural disasters seem to have multiplied many times.

I thank Bonnie for suggesting this Squidoo page, and giving me the opportunity to put it together.

You can add your site to the list on this page if 50% of any income generated by the page supports a humanitarian charity that helps those recovering from natural disaster, like Save the Children, and there are others. I have more information about some organizations at this page about natural disaster relief and how you can help, though it is not a complete list. One of my favorite things about Squidoo is the ability to give a percentage of whatever income I generate to worthy causes.

I am moderating the pages, and as long as the humanitarian charity you are donating 50% to is mentioned on the page/lens, stating that you are donating 50%, it will quickly be approved.

You can make a new lens, or change the settings on an existing lens, so that 50 - 100% of the revenue from the Squidoo page goes to a humanitarian charity of your choice, and add the "donation" module to your lens as well.

The picture here is actually from an earlier earthquake in Haiti, when a school collapsed.

Pray for the people of Haiti, and other places where there are experiencing natural disasters, and open your hearts to help in any way that you can.

Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Tent Cities

Zoom Out In or Out for Better Viewing

Use the features in the upper left of the map to zoom, out and move about. You can also "drag" the map with your mouse...to do that you hold down the mouse button and move the map with the pointer. When I use "Google Earth" I am able to zoom in and look around Haiti and see the tent cities for months after the earthquake...I am not sure if they are still visible, but you may be able to see them if you zoom in.
