Rockwell RK3440K Circular Saw reviews

Ok so if you are a woodworker like me you know the value of good tools. They get the job done, are easy to maintain and save you time. Well this is my first Rockwell tool and I can say that it fits this description. I just got it last week and used it to finish remodeling my kitchen and I couldn't believe the quality of the cuts I could make on it.
Looking back at all the research I did I see that all those reviewers had it right. The laser guide is very precise (came from the factory spot on!). The RK3440K gave me a very fine cut with almost no edge splintering. I used it with my bench top jointer (I recommend one if you don't have too much space, but if you can, use a floor mounted jointer for higher quality) and I saved a lot of time. With the crappy old tools I started with this project would have taken me twice as long to finish.

Although I was in my garage with easy access to power outlet, the 10 foot chord still impressed me for its reach. It will come as a blessing when I use it for the drywall in my basement this winter. I also couldn't believe how quiet it was. I'm used to a lot more noise than this. My wife even noticed and complimented it. That will be good for working inside the house with the entire family a few floors above.
Of course there are a few things which could have been a little better (there always is). The spring on the shoe is a little strong for my taste, like some other reviewers complained as well. Also, it uses a plunge system to set the depth of the cut. This can be a little annoying when you are aiming for a specific value. Some people also complained that the item was in backorder on amazon.com, but I think this was temporary seeing as it has been selling so fast. Nevertheless, these are very minor questions compared to the great value this tool offers to its customers.
