Rocky Mountain Bikes

Born in 1981, Rocky Mountain Bikes prides itself on building bikes to unmatched quality and standards. Two young men who worked in a small bicycle shop in Vancouver, B.C, started the company. They added modifications such as wide tires; straight bars and thumb shifters to Nishiki road bikes, and their small idea grew from there. Twenty-six years later, Rocky bikes are as enduring and tough as the mountain range they're named for.

Company Philosophy

The company's philosophy is to make sure that every Rocky Mountain bike they manufacture is the perfect combination of technology, craftsmanship and love for biking. Providing something for everyone, regular use, mountain and BMX bikes roll off the production line (it's not really a production line - they hand build each bike), with about 10 or so models being dedicated to trail and cross-country riding. Hardtails to 9-inch suspension bikes are represented and four different full suspension systems are available in the mountain bike line.

As a Company, Rocky Mountain Bikes also sponsors regional and pro riding teams, which appeals to serious riders as an additional credit to the company. Reviews generally look favorably on Rocky Mountain Bikes as a high quality, durable and very ride-able product that comes to us from our Canadian neighbors.

The seasoned cyclist already understands the lure of riding. It's the challenge of human/bike over hills, rocks, tree roots, and gullies. It's the challenge of control vs. speed. But Rocky Mountain Bikes offers models for the rest of the world that bike for pleasure on Saturday afternoon, or to get around town. While their mountain bikes are a big deal, there is something here for everyone, and who knows, the pleasure biker may become the next mountain biker.
