Rocky Patel 1961
Rocky Patel Cigars are a very unique type of cigar; popular among certain cigar smokers, but similarity disliked by many. There are many different types of rocky patel cigars and in this article we will be reviewing the recent, but extremely popular and spicy cigar, the rocky patel 1961
My Review of the Rocky Patel 1961
Our first cigar, perhaps, the most popular of the rocky patel cigars line. The 1961 is full of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, a Honduran binder, and the wrapper, easily recognized by it reddish tinge from Ecuador.
A strong characteristic of this cigar is its strong (but nor overly strong) pre light aroma. Unlike many other cigars, you aren't required to get really close to be able to enjoy the aroma of the 1961. The aroma itself can be described as having a predominately chocolate and earthy aroma, with a slight hint of spice.
The band is something we paid special attention to, the 1961 has a very unique band and one of the most unique ones I've or any of my colleagues have encountered. Basically, it is a tobacco plant with a very complex, intricate system of roots, and going onto a black and maroon background. Finally a large 1961 in white is printed over the band.
After lighting, the first thing you will notice is the strong, deep, spicy flavor. Most describe it as a black pepper, dry wood, and nutmeg taste. It can definitely be a surprise and shock to people used to smoking more mellow cigars. After about 3 quarters of an inch, you will notice the flavor mellow down, a sweeter, creamier, taste emerges. Although the earthy aroma still remains strong, it is best described as candied nuts.
Some of the superior qualities of the 1961 compared to different rocky patel cigars is its even burn rate. The 1961 keeps a consistent, clean burn rate, and assuming the first light is proper, one should expect a 60-80 minute smoke.
Overall, the rocky patel cigar 1961 provides is definitely, a unique cigar. And although, some might find it a bit spicy, many will agree, that the 1961 is a great enjoyable smoke. The 1961 also comes in the four regular sizes, corona, toro, torpedo and a 5 inch. The 1961 also sells for approximately 6 to 8 dollars, making it somewhere in the middle on the price range. Basically, if you're into spicy cigars, check out the rock patel 1961. We think you'll find it enjoyable to say the least.
