Rodney Carrington

Rodney Carrington is an American stand-up comic and comic country musician. His Hillibilly Humor and ethnic jokes are explicit and either you like the guy or you despise him. Taken with a grain of salt, he is great fun and only half as nasty as some would like him to have!

Rodney Carrington at a Glance

Rodney Carrington (Born October 19, 1968 in Longview, Texas) is an American stand-up comic and comic musician.

He was the star of the ABC television sitcom Rodney. Rodney Carrington is a frequent guest on the Bob and Tom show. Some may know him for his song featured on the Bob & Tom show called "Titties and Beer", "When My Wife Met My Girlfriend" and "Dancing With A Man" (the video of which featured fellow comedian Carrot Top in drag). His numerous albums and stand-up performances are often formatted for adult content. Rodney Carrington is also famous for the song "Dear Penis."

His comedy albums have all sold hundreds of thousands of copies. Even though Rodney had a television series, he still tours, selling out comedy clubs and performance halls across the country. He currently lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Rodney released his 7th album, King of the Mountains, on April 3, 2007.

Carrington's first Comedy Central special aired on April 14, 2007.

On May 1, 2007 Carrington released his first DVD entitled "Rodney Carrington: Live at the Majestic".

Rodney Carrington: Live at the Majestic

Over an hour of hilarious standup comedy and music from Rodney's studio album King of the Mountains. Also features the gut-busting songs that launched him to the forefront of the comedy world.

Rodney Carrington: Live at the Majestic

We were at the venue for the filming of this DVD, and I've got to say, he put on one heck of a show. The best thing about Rodney is that he's always fresh. He very rarely uses his old bit, so each time you see him, you're in for surprises, and this one was no exception.

But it seems that he has taken a bit more of a conservative path since his show on ABC. If you've heard his old albums (Laugh You [...] and Morning Wood), you will probably agree that this is a bit on the "light" side.

Just about anything that comes out of Rodney's mouth is hilarious, but I personally came to love the guy for his complete lack of respect for anyone or anything. While "Live at the Majestic" and "King of the Mountains" (they are both from the same show) are both well-produced and extremely entertaining, they lack the level of insult that made him famous. -- Jason L. Reina "Jason" (Dallas, TX)

This guy is not like Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable guy or Bill Engval. One thing he does very catchy songs that can stay stoke in your head for days. The first half or so is just regular stand up and basically stories of things that had happened to him. The big jokes are the songs and trust me many of you will very patriotic when you hear them and SEE them. Plus you appeaciate bobbies even better then before Hahaha. -- E. Roca Soto "philosopher" (Puerto Rico)

King of the Mountains - Rodney Carrington

This is another entertaining collection of countrified humor from a man who mostly has one thing on his mind; that is the thing that most men have on their minds. He is self deprecating and usually funny. That's enough for me.

Rodney is also known for his songs. These are usually scattered throughout his albums but in this one, they are all concentrated at the end. First come the live performances and then there are some repeats using studio recordings. -- John A Lee III "jal3" (San Antonio, TX)

The best comedian to ever live. We have seen Rodney 3 times live and will again this October in Vegas. This album is the same set he performed in my hometown the last time he was here. This cd will make ya pee from start to finish. It's awesome. His best buddy Barry Martin (RIP) opened for Rodney here a few years back and he was awesome also. He died later that year and it was a sad time. Rodney has a little bit of a tearjerker song on here for his lost friend and it's a great song. You have to get this cd and all of his for that matter. Rodney is definatley the best comedian to date. -- Rapr

I had heard Rodney on XM Comedy, and decided to buy into his albums. Best place to start is right here. He had me laughing hard enough to wet myself (I didn't). Think of Tim Wilson with the foulest mouth you ever heard, and some of the funniest stuff ever performed! I'm buying ALL of his albums now. ALL OF THEM! -- J. Lentz "lentzj" (Westland, MI USA)

This CD has to be one of the best greatest hits package for a comedian since Jeff Foxworthy's Double wide... CD/DVD set. The only thing that's missing here is a dvd with concert footage of Rodney and maybe a couple of his music videos like "Dancing with a man" and "Fred". If you like southern comedy, buy this CD, It's Awesome! -- Wrestling Fanatic 4-Life "Calvin C." (Baton Rouge, LA)

Man, this would have a five star rating if it weren't for the guy who (how I have no Idea) gave this a one... especially based on Rodney himself and not the album...(which I don't even own yet...) but I have every single one of his other albums and I have to say, Rodney is the funniest comedian I have ever heard, but that is just my opinion... He's not really racist, if he was I wouldn't be listening to him because I can't stand racism... this is just the best redneck comedy out there, period. If you are a fan of Foxworthy (I am) or Ron White (guilty)... you need to check out Rodney, he will turn out no doubt to be your fave... But I recommend strongly starting out with "Morning Wood" it's the best place to start with Rodney, it's where I started, and I don't look back. Without fail, I can listen to Rodney Carrington nomatter how bad a mood I'm in and it always cheers me up... truly a great , and way underated artist... let alone if Rodney was a professional country singer he would be up there with the best of em'... Just my kind of country, if ya ask me. -- 100% McWop "thebluetape" (Hell Centro, CA)

Morning Wood - Rodney Carrington

Carrington's got an ugly, agitated view of the world. That's the exact reason why some people like the comic and others don't. In the CD's opening minutes the comedian proudly indulges in some nasty ethnic caricature, but before long he settles into the raunchy redneck sex routines he's best known for. At times, Carrington's all-consuming horniness sounds more like a nagging Pavlovian itch than adult sexual yearning. The central figure in Rodney's world continues to be the male member and references to his favorite organ abound on Morning Wood. About half of the disc is taken up with the comic performing dirty ditties. The title track works the same turf as "Letter to My Penis," a song from Carrington's 1998 album, Hangin' with Rodney. This guy definitely has an obsession and he wants to share it with the world. --Fred Cisterna

There is no end to Rodney's talent and comedic abilities. Though not quite as strong as his first 2 CDs, Morning Wood is sure to entertain. Full of all new material, this CD is great for any fan of Rodney of someone who's looking to see what he is about. Also, check out his TV show, "Rodney." -- Cowboy on the Ocean (West Texas Native)

this has to be the funniest hillbilly humor I have ever heard. its better than most standup comedians around. when I first listened to this CD, I couldn't stop laughing. Rodney Carrington is great. -- Billy Bob Finney (Daytona Beach, Florida United States)
