Roger Clemens is lying.

Ranked #44,769 in Entertainment, #503,578 overall

Roger Clemens is a liar.

Trainer Brian McNamee has testified under oath before Congress that he injected Roger Clemens with HGH and steroids. Seven-time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens has testified under oath before Congress that he has never used HGH or steroids.

Obviously, someone is lying.

Brian McNamee is an admitted liar whose story has changed several times already.

Roger Clemens is a bad liar whose credibility deteriorates a little more every time he opens his mouth.

McNamee's story has changed because he has slowly given up on covering up for the players he injected. Sure, he lies, and he is seriously lacking in integrity and morals, but he's not just telling tall tales.

Roger Clemens is a liar.

Roger Clemens's Dubious Defense, Exhibit A

One example of Clemens's misguided attempts to clear his name

The Allegation

Clemens's close friend and teammate Andy Pettitte testified in a deposition that Roger Clemens told him in 1999 or 2000 that he had used human growth hormone.

During the congressional hearing, Clemens agreed with the statement that Pettitte is "one of the most respected players in the major leagues and one of the most honest people in baseball." As ESPN's Jayson Stark put it, "It may be tough to fully believe anyone else. But it's easy to believe a guy like this, who had so many reasons to defend and corroborate his longtime friend and hero -- but didn't."

The Rocket's Response

"I think he misremembers."

Clemens claimed that the conversation that Pettitte had "misheard" and "misremembered" had actually been about someone on a TV show who had used HGH to improve his quality of life. So we are supposed to believe that Andy Pettitte, widely regarded as an honest, upstanding friend and player, is so forgetful and easily confused that he recounted, under oath, with "no doubt," a conversation about some random HGH-using stranger as his longtime friend's admission of HGH use.

Sound off!

What do you think?

Everyone, including Brian McNamee, agrees that McNamee has been lying for a long time. But who's lying now? Is Clemens lying when he says he has never used HGH or steroids? Or is Brian McNamee lying when he says he injected Clemens with HGH and steroids?

Who's lying, Roger Clemens or Brian McNamee?

Roger Clemens is lying. He did use perfomance-enhancing drugs.

The truth is the TRUTH....sooner or later, it could be days, weeks, months or even years.............................but it ALWAYS reveals itself, be it at work, in relationships, personal life, religion or politics.....you can conceal the truth for a while...........but LIGHT ALWAYS,EVENTUALLY SHINES THRU DARKNESS - wether you believe it or not, regardless if you agree or don`t....it`s STILL the TRUTH.

clemens is a lying sack of turd

james johnson says:

his record speaks for itself. im 45, and everyday i wake up with aches and pains. and im in pretty good shape. but for someone his age, and to do the things he did the later part of his career, i'd say he juiced up.

Daryl says:

Clemens is quite simply a jerk, a liar and a scumbag. This is a guy who threw a bat at another player and said "I thought it was the ball"...hard to believe a word he says...or perhaps I am misremembering that? No. He's a liar.

Jerry says:

Roger Clemens

suzie says:

roger clemens is a bold face liar. So full of himself.

Freaknoodles says:

I agree with Arizona-Snow that there is plenty of blame to go around all of baseball, but that doesn't excuse Clemens's behavior during the investigation. Kids and young athletes look up to him specifically, not the industry in general, and his failure to take responsibility for his actions is disgraceful.

GypsyPirate says:

It's sad - but I do not believe Clemens.

MrNoodles says:

Roger Clemens is a liar. The sad part is that he isn't even good at it. Clemens is so wrapped up about his legacy that he would even sell out his wife. This guy is a scumbag at so many different levels. Guilty as charged! Book 'em Dan-o.

Brian McNamee is lying. He never injected Clemens with illegal drugs.

Samantha says:

I LOVE ROGER CLEMENS <3

Serge says:

Brian McNamee has zero credibility, and can not be taken seriously. Roger's lawyers will "eat him for breakfast" at the trial.

fefe says:

Haven't been following this issue, would need more convincing.

ideasbymarz says:

He says he didn't do it. Until proven guilty I beleive in innocent until proven guilty

coollikeme says:

What ever happen to innocent, intill proven guilty

Arizona-Snow says:

Sports have for too long turned a blind eye to steriod use and in some ways they encouraged it. Now after many embarrassing situations they want to stop it and make scapegoats of the players instead of turning blame to where it truly belongs. Quite honestly I dont care who is lying, its time to turn the page and make a fresh start. If anyone is really to blame it is Sports Entertainment as an entire industry and they are now trying to ruin it even further by making fall guys and turning everyone against each other.

mike1947 says:

How many times does McNamee get to change his story. Someone call me when we get the final version. It would not surprise me if he supplied some of the hotshots in the Yankee dugout with cocaine, amphetamines etc. Then there would be a reason for these ridiculous hearing about men making too much money to play a little boy's game.

Another example of Clemens's misguided attempts to clear his name

The Allegation

On Friday before the congressional hearing, officials asked Clemens's attorneys for contact information for a nanny who had worked for him in 1998, at a time when Clemens's attendance at a party at Jose Canseco's house was in dispute. The Clemens camp didn't respond with the contact info until Monday, the day after Clemens had the nanny, whom he hadn't spoken to in years, visit him at his home. While at his house, the nanny told Clemens that she didn't remember the party, and he responded, "You know, the reason you don't remember that party is because I wasn't there."

The Rocket's Response

When the congressional committee asked why he met with the nanny before providing her name to the committee, his response was "I was trying to do y'all a favor," as his lawyer jumped from his seat behind him shouting, "It was my idea!"

"My body never changed. If he's putting that stuff up in my body, if what he's saying, which is totally false, if he's doing that to me, I should have a third ear coming out of my forehead. I should be pulling tractors with my teeth."

Or not...

Roger Clemens's Dubious Defense, Exhibit C

Another example of Clemens's misguided attempts to clear his name

Clemens was interviewed by his friend Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes, and they discussed the possibility of taking a lie detector test. Or at least I think that's what they're doing.

Clemens: Some say they're good. Some say they're not. Do whatever.
Wallace: So as far as you're concerned, you would conceivably?
Clemens: Yeah. I don't know if they're good or bad.
Wallace: Were you to pass a lie detector test, would that help prove that you're telling the truth and help restore?
Clemens: Would it?
Wallace: I don't know.
Clemens: I don't either.
