Time to become a killer in World of Warcraft.

Rouges are one of the most deadly classes in world of warcraft. However, there are a lot of people out there questioning what talents create the best rogues? That is why i decided to create this lens on rogue talent builds. There are many uses for the three tree's Assassination, Combat, and Subtlety it's all based on personal preference, or what you are doing at the time, but we'll get to all that as we continue to the rogue talent build guide and learn how to really make you character deadly!

Let's Get Started

First you want to decide what you are going to be doing the most in WoW. Each talent tree has their uses in the warcraft world. You want to ask yourself am I going to be questing, dungeon raiding, pvp, etc. Whatever you decide just make sure that you want to stick with it for a while, especially if you just started because it will cost you 5-35 increasing each time you choose to reset your talents. Let's move on to explaining what each talent tree means.

  • # Assassination - This tree is more focused on burst damage as opposed to dps which is in the combat tree, but we'll get to that later. It also makes your poisons more potent, and you get more combo points which allow you to do more finishing moves more often.
  • Combat - If you want to focus more on plain attack instead of sneaking around, then this tree is for you. Combat lets you go from enemy to enemy without much of a downtime so this would be better used for accelerated questing. Since you don't have much down time then you can kill more enemy's quicker which in turn you complete quest faster, which makes you get to that level 80 rogue even sooner.
  • Subtlety - Now if stealth and finesse is what you are about look no further. Subtlety is the best talent tree for pvp. You will be able to sneak around your opponent and strike at will undetected and when you do decide to strike your agility will be so high that most strikes from your enemy will miss. These skills will also let you escape from a battle when it looks like things aren't going your way.

Assassination

Mutilate Daggers

Purpose : Raiding

Fleet Footed or Quick Recovery may be substituted in place of Murder. You might also want to get master poisoner i highly recommend it.

PvP Mutilate/Preparation

Purpose : PvP

This build utilizes high burst damage without sacrificing agility or defence.

Combat

Combat Fist/Dagger

Purpose : Raiding

Utilizes all of the DPS increasing talents in the combat tree. You can substitute dagger skills for swords or maces if you prefer.

Play time

I was just wondering how long it took everyone to reach level 80. I know for me it took over 3 months doing the old fashion way by grabbing every quest i can find and completeing everything i could.

Combat

Purpose : Questing

Just like the build above, daggers and fist weapons can be substituted for swords or maces.

Subtlety

Honor Among Thieves

Purpose : Raiding

Named after the talent "Honor Among Thieves" this build is really interesting because instead of getting combo points from Sinister Strike and Mutilate you get points from you party's critical strikes.
