Roller Derby Clothes

Flat Track Roller Derby has its very own dress code.

While its not written in stone, most girls choose some form of the same type of clothing.

Typically, roller derby clothes include your skates (of course), stripey knee high socks, stockings, short shorts and a light weight tshirt.

When you're done skating you'll have to wear a hoodie so you don't get cold.

Long socks are a must, the brighter and the more original, the better.
They must go just over the knee or thigh high, stripes are great but you can also now find them with great patterns.

Roller Derby Stockings

Absolute must have clothes for Roller Derby

Without exception, when bouting all roller girls wear stockings. Usually fishnets. Its part of the appeal of the sport, after all.

If you don't want to show your bare legs with just fishnet stockings, wear a second pair of flesh coloured stockings underneath your fishnets to hide any lumps n bumps.

Fishnets are usually only worn to bouts, but some girls like to go to practice in them as well.

Shorts are the best thing to wear for roller derby. While skirts are cute too, shorts will cover your booty because you WILL fall over!

Super cute skirts to wear for Roller Derby

If you're the confident type, wear your skirt with fishnets and show off your backside. Otherwise, wear opaque tights or leggings and don't worry about it.

While most girls in Roller Derby wear black clothes, you can stand out by wearing a bit of colour.

I particularly love the pleated skirts!Very cute!

Derby gets really hot, really fast.
You need a good quality tank top to keep the sweat off your skin while keeping you warm and covered up. Tshirts are okay for a while, but eventually you will want something a bit nicer for derby.

Roller Derby Safety Gear Must Haves

The most important part of your Roller Derby Clothes is going to be your safety equipment.

You will need full safety gear to play roller derby. This means:

Kneepads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet and mouth guard.

But the best quality you can and they will last you a long time. I use Protec gear personally.

Funky Roller Derby Helmets

Again, most girls wear the black, shiny protec helmet above. Be different! Wear a coloured helmet, or customise your helmet with stickers.

Roller Derby Fashion

After training you're probably going to want to get out of your sweaty derby gear and wear some cool clothes that will help you to represent as a derby girl.
