To Me, Rollerball Pens are a Necessity!
Now, I'm sure I could technically live without them! But I'm always writing stuff. I write lists and things to do, plans and journals, thoughts and ideas. I write in stuff and on stuff. I write notes for web pages and notes for my kids. And I like to write in pen. I always have pens in my purse and pens wherever I go. Rollerball pens write so smoothly, which is why I love them so much over other types . . . although I will use anything!
So, my hope with this page is that you'll have some fun, learn a couple of cool things about pens and have access to some really awesome rollerball pens to buy!

Facts paraphrased from http://home.howstuffworks.com/pen.htm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pen.
In the past, reed pens, quill pens and dip/nib pens were used.
What Aspect of a Pen is Most Important to You?
A fountain pen is like a dip (or nib) pen, but instead of having to dip the pen in ink constantly, it has an ink reservoir that refills the nib regularly. Fountain pens are still used today.
The most common pens used now are ballpoint pens and rollerball pens (micro, fine and medium). Felt pens are also popular, but only the very fine ones are used for writing.

I love these pens! They write so smoothly. I like black ones and blue ones - - especially the midnight blue ones. But I really like these multicolored pens. I'm truly an office supply nerd!
Ballpoint pens use oil-based ink that comes out of a point made of brass, steel or tungsten carbide. The ink dries right away on the paper.
Rollerball pens use water-based ink that also comes out of a point or ball like a ballpoint pen. Rollerball pens write more smoothly because the ink is wetter (like a fountain pen). As a result, the ink takes longer to dry on the paper.

Rollerball pens were invented in the 1980s and made writing so much smoother!
