Rollin' Glad - Hi Ho Silver Wheels!

Hi Kids. I'm back with the exciting third installment of The Saga of Rollin' Glad. I hope you enjoy this one as much as the first and are chomping at the bits to see what Rollin' Glad does next.

Stay tuned as they will all be posted soon.

We've tried to get pictures of Rollin' Glad, but have always failed. They always turn out blurry or just scenery. So, if any of you get a picture, please send it to us. We will post it promptly to show our appreciation to Rollin' Glad, our hero. With that said, let's get on with the first story.

Billy the Child

Capturing Billy the Child

This is as true as the writer for "Sports Illusions" could tell because it was so exciting and blood rushing. The writer had found a great-grandson of a great-granddad who was with Rollin' Glad when he captured 'Billy The Child,' the famed train robber and Christmas Morning Gift stealer in Ramp Elevator Springs, New Mexico. As the great-grandson remembered it went like this:

Part 3

It was the snowy Christmas morning after Santa had left in his Sleigh of red,
And all the kids gifts were stolen before they awoke from sleep in their bed.
All the parents knew right after the news it had to be someone so wild,
They put up wanted Crying and Alive posters everywhere for Billy The Child.

Not to far away in Texas, Rollin' Glad was eating birthday cake and heard bells and three rings,
Rollin' aired his tires and headed west then saw a poster and headed to Ramp Elevator Springs.
When Rollin' gusts in, surprising people with the flurry of white wind,
Rollin' looked at all the tearful eyes he knew he had to quickly mend.

Rollin' took off in a gust of wind knowing he had to head him off on dusty I-10,
so Rollin' set up a non-harmful, but a way to catch Billy The Child and win.
When Billy rode through the canyon Mr. Rollin' Glad caused a lot of noise,
It scared Billy away so fast and so quick he dropped the bags with all the toys.

Now Rollin' Glad never wants credit for the work he does or a thank you sound,
So he laid down all the toys, nice and neat, on the far edge of town.
Now Rollin' told this great-grandfather what to do since he was a silent friend,
And he yelled to the town to come and when he turned back around he just saw a puff of wind..

Wow! Is this Rollin' Glad?

Gold Flat Road, CA

Gold Flat Road, CA

My name is Toby Shaw and I am a rookie writer for "The New York Clock" and I was working a January 1st Holiday for probation period. This was 1999 the last 1st before the Millennium. As I was at the subway I saw an elderly man in a wheelchair stuck trying to get on the subway and the doors were about to shut and I was the only one around. Now I had a meeting I was running late for, but my heart said help the disabled man over the being late issue. As I got the man seated in with the locks and was leaving, he said, "thanks" and offered me a $500.00 bill. I almost fell out of my pants since my belt was loose. I said, "no sir". He said, "it is not much since you saved my life, my name is Jody Wells, Jr. of the great Wells Gold mine in Gold Flat Road, CA. Son, I have a secret I have carried almost 70 years. And I can tell you are a fresh new writer and you deserve to write about it."

My Dad is the only one that knew how the Gold Stealers were stopped in 1900..It was the "legend". Do you know the legend is The Rollin' Glad? Please take your money back and tell me this great story that will make front page news and make me famous for just doing what my heart told me to do. And as well as Mr Wells could put it in order it went like this.

Toby was getting to ramble on with the greatest story he ever got to write and he was 22 years old. The story is about how gold was found in Gold Flat Road, CA and all the people that grew up there, they all got a percent equal to how big their farm was. Jody's dad's was the largest, so he was in charge and was an honest church going person. So he was about to give everyone their first dividend when a rich mean baron in Hilly Curbs, CA heard and decided to scare people to sell cheap to him and he could run the mines illegally. It went like this:

Part 5

Way up in the hills of middle California was a sweet nice town so high it scared the ground toad,
But once you arrived there you met all the nice, honest, Godly people of a town named Gold Flat Road.
Well it was summer and real hot and to get more water the men had to dig a new water ditch.
Little did all those friends eating fried chicken and working know it was going to make them rich.
Whoa and behold, on Mr. Wells back forty a surprise was just ready to unfold.
When they were digging so deep and by the mountain one digger yelled "Hey, I struck gold."

Well, Gold Flat Road was a small town with only about 35 families if you didn't count the raccoons sound,
but somehow Jody, Jr. said it isn't known how or why but the good news got to the towns that surround.
Everybody but one wanted to throw a celebration party and eat, dance and have fun,
Everyone knew the people would share their good fortune except, Greedy Sly-face Mason.
Everybody from all the towns had smiles and soft faces and trusty eyes that never would fold.
Then the people started getting scared and worried when they saw Sly-face show up with a face so cold.

He planned on offering a small amount of money & if that wasn't accepted he and his bad men would use scare,
Well, Rollin' Glad was at a birthday party and got word from his voice from the air.
Once he was there eating ice cream and decorated cake and then there was puff of wind and just vacant air,
Rollin' knew he had to get there and stop Sly-face from doing something far from fair.

You know ol' Rollin' never hurts anyone, he just does what he does to get the job done,
He knew the bad guys were going to try and scare the people at night so he thought of some fun.
Rollin' knew which house was going to be scared and tormented by the attackers,
So, puff in some wind ol' Rollin' landed on the roof with some last year July 4th firecrackers.
Well the bad guys moved in and were all ready to be bad and not nice like a bunch of Nuns.
When Rollin' let off all two hundred firecrackers and it sounded like two hundred real guns.
Now the last Jody said his dad heard they were fleeing south like a stirred up bunch of bumble bees.
And because of Rollin' the gold was equal to all, as good as you please.
Now Jody said he was just tearfully about to say how great Rollin' was loved as a friend,
When as Jody tells it he looked happy to the town, and when he turned back he only found a vacant puff of wind.

But Jody Jr. told Toby, till this very day on the outskirts of town, by unanimous demand, sits a marble carved statue of a Puff of Wind on a pure Gold Stand.
