My husband and I were traveling with our 10 month old son and were looking for a hotel with suites so that our son could take his daytime naps in one room while we relaxed in the other room. We settled on the Delta Suites and could not have been more pleased. The hotel appears to cater to both business travelers and families, and amazingly seems to manage this two-pronged positioning very effectively. The reason for their success is surely due to their wonderful staff. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (they even gave our son an age-appropriate book and toy when we checked in) and eagerly gave us recommendations for places to visit/dine/walk/etc. and then followed up to hear about our experiences. The on-site restaurant had a delicious breakfast and the chef even came to our table to offer to prepare a special meal for our son, should he need anything. What a true gem in Vancouver! (And the location is great too!)

A classy, modern hotel with excellent services. Guests can borrow mountain bikes to go into the mountains or touring bikes to see the city and there's free internet access and PCs in case you didn't bring your laptop.

We had the most basic room but it was great - clean, stylish and comfortable. We were a bit worried about construction noise as it overlooked where they're building a new public transport system but we weren't disturbed at all.

The staff in reception were very impressive, equally comfortable helping us clear the smelly hiking boots and camping equipment from our rental car after a road trip as they were with valet parking the Ferraris and Lamborghinis other guests brought.

Great location in the heart of a trendy district and near the water with a fantastic chocolate shop round the corner.

We enjoyed our stay. We got a very good room rate and that was the main reason for our trip. The location is excellent. The character and service is excellent from front desk, valet to bellman, maids, Duty Manager. This is not a cheap place to dine or enjoy the lounge - but I must say the food was amazing, from late night Pizza from Room Service (which actually was nearly the same price as take out from Pizza Hut), to the Bengal Lounges selections of local cider, local beer, spirits and Martinis. We had the misfortune being kept up one night but the hotel comped our breakfast in the Empress Dinning Room which was superb - every bite was absolutely delicious.

We loved the Chateau Victoria! It was central to everything. We walked to the Royal BC Museum, the Empress Hotel, the convention center, etc. Unsecured covered parking was fine as the area seemed very safe. We walked in the evenings and never felt uneasy.

The room included a bedroom area (with a sink and mini-frig, no closet - though there was one in the hallway) and a sitting room (with a pull-out bed and closet). In the particular room we had, when you pulled out the bed it filled the entire room. The view of the city was beautiful. Wireless Internet was available (though a bit slow).

The staff was helpful and cheerful. It was nice to be greeted with a smile when you returned from a long day! There was always hot cider available in the lobby (what a nice touch).

Next door to the hotel is a wonderful Greek restaurant (try the yummy dolmas and the souvlaki). We also walked several blocks to Pho Hoa and had Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup). Which was excellent!

Westin Bayshore Hotel Vancouver downtown

This is a very nice hotel right the on the waterfront. Beautiful views. Within walking distance to many things. If you have little luggage you can even walk to the cruise docks. We just felt it was very pricey and the room was looking worn. I would stay here again and try to get a good price.
