The last decade has produced some great films of this genre with just the right balance of sweetness, laughter, and touching moments. Serendipidy - Featured Romantic Comedy From 2001
John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale, Molly Shannon
2001 was a good year for romantic comedies, but this is one of my favorites of all time. I love this movie! I have probably watched it at least a dozen times. First of all, I just adore John Cusack and second, I love the idea that there really is such a thing as fate and that life gives us signs to follow.Irresistible stars John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale are drawn together and take a chance on love in this critically acclaimed romantic comedy! In the course of one magical evening, Jonathan (Cusack) and Sara (Beckinsale) meet unexpectedly ... then part without expectation when she decides they must let fate determine if they are meant to be together. Years later, they are both engaged to others but cannot give up the dream that -- despite time, distance, and the obstacles that conspire to keep them apart -- they will one day meet again. Also starring Jeremy Piven and Molly Shannon in a stellar supporting cast -- you're destined to agree with audiences everywhere who fell for the surprising charms of this delightful big-screen romance!

Two Weeks Notice - Featured Romantic Comedy From 2002
Sandra Bullock, Hugh Grant
Another one of my all time favorites. I have to say, I am not a big Hugh Grant fan at all, but I think him and Sandra Bullock are great together in this film. I love the love/hate thing they have going on in this movie.Lucy Kelson (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant Harvard Law Graduate who goes to work for George Wade (Hugh Grant), a wealthy real estate developer , in efforts to save a local community center. Lucy gets fed up with Mr. Wade's inability to make even the smallest decision, such as what tie to wear, without waking her in the middle of the night. When Wade goes too far and calls her out of her best friends wedding, Lucy gives her two week notice, but George Wade intends to make it very difficult for her to quit because he depends on her. It's not until his attention is turned toward June Carver (Alicia Witt), the beautiful young lawyer hired to replace her, that Lucy begins to realize her feelings for George, even though he is a "self-absorbed pain".
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - Featured Romantic Comedy From 2003
Kate Hudson, Mathew McConaughey
I really enjoyed this movie. I just have to say, the apple didn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Kate Hudson, but in this film especially she reminded me so much of her mother, Goldy Hawn.Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConoughy) is an advertising executive who to win a big campaign bets he can get a women to fall in love with him in ten days. Unfortunately Ben has no idea that Andy Anderson (Kate Hudson), the women chosen for this bet by his co-workers, is also on a mission of her own. Andy is a writer for a popular women's magazine doing "research" for her new article "How to lose a guy in 10 days". Ben and Andy begin dating, neither one realizing the other also has an ulterior motive, his to make her fall in love, hers to get him to leave her, making it an interesting and hilarious ten days.
50 First Dates - Featured Romantic Comedy From 2004
50 First Dates set an all-time box-office record for the opening weekend of a romantic comedy. I imagine this was in part due to the great success of the pairing of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer. This film takes the idea of falling in love all over again to whole new and hilarious level. Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) is a playboy in a Hawaiian paradise, until he meets Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore). Henry thinks he has found the girl of his dreams until he soon discovers that there is just one problem. Due to an accident, Lucy suffers short-term memory loss. Each day she awakes with no memory of the previous day. A determined Henry tries to find a new way each and every day to meet Lucy and make her fall in love with him. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it's just hilarious!
The Wedding Date - Featured Romantic Comedy From 2005
Debra Messing, Dermot Mulroney
Debra Messing (TV's Will & Grace) shines in this hilarious romantic comedy about the surprising road to finding true love. Kat Ellis (Messing) is determined to attend her younger sister's wedding with a date. Rather than face the ridicule of her family and in order to show up her ex-fiance, she resorts to the Yellow Pages to find a last-minute escort, Nick (Dermot Mulroney, My Best Friend's Wedding). His dashing good looks and quick-witted charm may win over her family. But will they win over Kat? Filled with unexpected twists and endless laughs, The Wedding Date is the one date that you'll want to keep! The Holiday - Featured Film From 2006
Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black
I swear I have seen this movie a million times, okay, not really, but I have seen it many. I think this movie is witty and charming, plus you get two completely different love stories in one great film.Iris (Kate Winslet) is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda (Cameron Diaz), realizes the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who have never met and live 6000 miles apart meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris moves into Amanda's L.A. house in sunny California as Amanda arrives in the snow covered English countryside. Shortly after arriving at their destinations, both women find the last thing either wants or expects: a new romance. Amanda is charmed by Iris' handsome brother Graham (Law) and Iris, with inspiration provided by legendary screenwriter Arthur (Wallach), mends her heart when she meets film composer Miles (Jack Black).
Enchanted - Featured Film From 2007
Patrick Dempsey, Amy Adams
What happens when a princess from the fairytale world gets magically transported into the real world? Enchanted begins in the animated fairytale world of Andalasia where Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) is destined to marry Prince Edward (James Marsden) and live happily ever after. But, Edward's step-mother Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), pushes Giselle into a well that magically transports Giselle to real life world right in the center of Time Square in New York City. Beginning to realize this world is quite different from her own, Giselle finds herself alone on a stormy night in the wrong part of town. A chance encounter with Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his princess-loving daughter Morgan (Rachel Covey) leads to a safe place to spend the night and the beginning of a complicated, yet compelling relationship. As Giselle begins to question her fairy-tale beliefs of what love is, Robert also begins to question his own. Parallels to the classic Disney fairytales, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty abound in the form of a King's and Queen's ball, small animals and rodents who clean house when called, the threat of poisoned apples, characters impulsively breaking into song, and the power of the kiss of true love and the absurd juxtaposition of fairytale idealism and stark reality is hilariously funny. Made Of Honor - Featured Film From 2008
Patrick Dempsey, Michelle Monaghan
In this film I discovered that Patrick Dempsey has a talent for physical comedy on a level I haven't really seen from him before. This movie made me laugh out loud!Patrick Dempsey plays Tom, a nice guy but a serial dater with a girlfriend in every zip code of New York; Michelle Monaghan is Hannah, Tom's best friend since college. When Hannah goes away to Scottland for six weeks Tom realizes that he is lost without her and that Hannah is in fact his dream woman. Upon her return, Tom plans to spill his feelings to Hannah until she springs her big surprise on him... her handsome new Scottish fiance Colin (Kevin McKidd, rather McDreamy himself). A desperate and heartbroken Tom agrees to become Hannah's Maid Of Honor in order to launch his plan to "steel the bride" making for a sweet and funny tale.
The Proposal - Featured Film From 2009
Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Betty White
I think I am a little bit addicted to this film. Sandra Bullock is fantastic in anything she does. When she is on the big screen, this beautiful, classy lady morphs into a great comedic actress, rolling out the physical comedy just as hilariously as the boys. I find the pairing of Bullock and Ryan Reynolds just irresistible!Sandra Bullock does it again as Margaret Tate, a cold, demanding Chief Editor at a New York Publishing Firm. Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) has worked tirelessly and with little recognition as her assistant for three years in hopes of a promotion to Editor. After facing deportation back to Canada, Margaret blackmails Andrew into agreeing to marry her. When faced with a skeptical immigration official Margaret ends up having to visit Andrew's family with him in Alaska. Andrew begins to see a whole other side of Margaret when she is taken out of her comfort zone and begins to bond with his family. Betty White, who is always a comical treat, really adds something special to this funny and sweet film as Andrews Grandmother.
Valentine's Day - Featured Film From 2010
Ashton Kutcher, Bradley Cooper, Emma Roberts, Hector Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, Queen Latifah, Shirley MacLaine, Taylor Lautner, Topher Grace
If the star-studded cast isn't enough then take it from me, any Love junkie has to see this film! The starriest cast you may ever see sparkles in a hilarious and heartwarming romcom from the director of Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries. Stories crisscross, collide and boomerang in this look at a day in the life of love. There's a proposal. Flowers that didn't get sent. A big fat secret that's finally told. The "I'll show up and surprise him" that ended up surprising her. Fights, kisses, wrong turns, right moves and more. Whether new to or through with love, you'll fall in love with this 19-star, funny-side-up celebration of romance.

- Hi very interesting topic. I rather liked "As good as it gets" with Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson. A romantic comedy with a twist unique to the style of Jack Nicholson -- he stole the show with his subtle satire tempered with refreshingly insightful wit.
