Ron Paul On The Issues

So now that Paul is campaigning for president in 2012, how is he on the problems Americans are experiencing or the values they have?

Abortion
An important dilemma to have a look at especially in the state of Iowa will be his stance on abortion. The congressman will have to encounter the faith based party member's fears regarding his stance on this essential problem. He essentially claims that killing the unborn is definitely a procedure of killing and really should not be backed through any government. Having said that, at the same time thinks that state governments should make the decision whether or not this practice ought to be legal. He thinks the fight should not occur with the Supreme Court, but rather we need to aim to generate laws that constrain the judge's authority therefore turning around their decisions.

Gay Issues
Christian individuals are likewise concerned with his view on homosexual concerns. He has declared that he is in opposition to legislation constraining liberties to individuals thus he backed the overturning "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in the military services. He has mentioned that gay people shouldn't be discharged if they're not causing an interruption and that in the end the federal government doesn't have any clout in economic or interpersonal human relationships. With that being said, he will not reinforce legal guidelines that prohibits or legalizes homosexual marriage because he feels marriage needs to be approved by way of a place of worship. After some research, he has stated some clear ideas regarding the subject. The foremost is that nearly anything relating to relationships should definitely not be monitored by the federal government and that in the end state governments should decide what suits their residents. Having said that, his individual viewpoint is that people should not even need a certificate for relationships through state and federal government since it is a religious matter.

Taxes And Economy
Paul feels that Americans could get a 0% income tax if we ended our efforts in seeking to be our planet's international police and reduce our budget drastically. Fundamentally he said taxation is reallocating prosperity, where people get taxed and all the money flows to special interests and corporations. Due to the fact in the event the corporations go bankrupt it's the American citizen that has got to subsidize them. As a US representative he specifically addressed the Federal Reserve and Ben Bernanke regarding their freewheeling procedures of randomly generating cash causing inflation woes all while the nation is confronting financial problems. He offered a fix for slashing the debt and that would be to slash military spending and eliminate foreign effort. He argues a lot of international interference will not protect The US, but alternatively just uses up tax payers' dollars. Rather than fighting over a few billion dollars in the the 2012 spending plan, we have to come up with much more serious cutbacks.

ObamaCare
Last year he presented a law that would repeal Obama's healthcare reform so as to prevent people in the US from from being demanded to pay out extra income for a massive government program. He estimates that this law will result in a lot more bankruptcy due to the fact health care is going to be worse. He indicates it will cause about 400 billion dollars in more taxes that'll result in employing more Internal Revenue Service personnel. Instead of this high-priced law, he believes we must produce major change to entitlements.

Will Ron Paul Run in 2012?

Paul initially said he was worried about running in 2012. Ron Paul has led in the CPAC straw polls both in 2010 and 2011 and it might be due to his candid delivery on issues that are genuine. Paul's motivation for presidency appears to be for the good of America, rather than for personal reasons. Paul wants to limit government in an extreme manner and argues that many republicans aren't for limited government. US involvement in foreign countries and creating a limited government involvement in our personal lives has some socially conservative republicans concerned.

According to the latest Rasmussen poll, Ron Paul is essentially tied with president Obama if the general election were to be held today. This is far better than the other republican hopefuls who are slightly trailing Obama in similar polls. Moreover Paul has an extremely large lead amongst independents, 42% for Paul to Obama's 28%.

Paul will have to face the social conservatives in Iowa that worry about his stance on gay marriage. Paul has said time and again he is against laws at the federal level that restrict rights to individuals thus he voted to repeat "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in the military. He has stated that homosexuals shouldn't be discharged if they are not causing a disruption. However, on the other hand Paul won't support legislation that bans or legalizes gay marriage on a federal level. Paul believes laws that deal with personal rights should be handled at the state level whether they are for or against an issue.

In his speech in Iowa Paul compared our current system to a monarchy, where we have a king that is overtaxing a regulating us to the point where our entire system is breaking. He said as Americans we no longer depend on our family, but rather the federal government and have given the government absolute control over our money. He said we put our money and our faith in a false god and we need to change that kind of thinking.

The congressman says the American people have been to submissive with allowing the government to take away personal liberties and even introduced a bill that was only one paragraph long saying the government shouldn't have the power to do anything that the American people don't have the right to do. For example, he said if the American people can't fondle and take risque photographs of other citizens then the TSA in airports shouldn't be able to subject the American people to the same behavior. He believes it is the government's responsibility to protect our rights rather than limit them in the name of safety.
