★ Stocking, Planking, Horsemanning & More Viral Photography Memes ★

Photo craziness and silly fun has been around since the invention of the camera (for instance, who hasn't put two fingers up as bunny ears behind someone's head in a photograph?!) But then the internet has come along and taken these ideas further than before, creating viral memes such as craning, batmanning and owling.

But of course it all started with planking, which is the act of lying perfectly straight, face down, in the most creative place you can think of. This is the idea that started it all, and in my opinion it remains the best. After planking, there have been poses like the 'owl', the 'bat' and the 'crane', as well as coning where you go to a fast food drive through, order an ice-cream and then grab the ice-cream at the ice-cream end (whilst filming the fast food staff looking flabbergasted!). There is also 'leisure diving' and 'levitating' which is more clever and whimsical than silly, but it takes practice to get it just right. And finally, we have horsemanning where you try and make it look like you are headless by using imaginative scenes and props.
