A Robot That Does Housework? You've Got To Be Kidding Me!

Ranked #14,774 in Home & Garden, #243,732 overall

I Just Bought A Robot And I Named Him Roomba!

Wouldn't it be great if you could just push a button and a robot would do the vacuuming? Can you imagine sitting back watching TV while your floors and carpets are being cleaned for you?

The reality is- this robot has landed on planet earth and actually likes to vacuum floors (weird I know!) The great thing is he could be yours, but first you must promise to make him a part of the family and to love and to cherish him like your own child or partner! And ummm you may have to part with some of your hard earned cash to buy him to!

What Is The Roomba Vacuum Cleaner?

Roomba 400The Roomba is a floor cleaning robot that, "well" cleans floors. There have been over six million sold worldwide making them the leader in an over populated robot market. The Roomba stands out from the robot crowd due to it's reliability and functionalities.

iRobot, the company behind the Roomba, have been developing and tweaking this guy for several years and have released a number of differen't models.

The Roomba 400 was unveiled in 2005, to a suspicious public, many believed the technology was way ahead of it's time and the robot wouldn't be up to much.

Luckily there are those people that always have to have the latest in-thing, and it was these types that firstly took a chance by purchasing the Roomba and secondly rushed to the internet to let us know how good it was, by publishing their very own Roomba reviews

Product Features & General Roomba Information

Roomba reviewAll devices are very similar in shape, though the difference in functionalities from model to model is clear to see. If you want the glitz and the glam of the new Roomba 770 for example, you can expect to pay a fair few $ for it!

The robots all work in a very similar way, counter rotating brushes pick up dirt and debris from the floor, while an in-built aero vac system sucks the debris the brushes collect into a vacuum bin. The spinning side brushes collect dirt from hard to reach places, which would often be impossible to get to with a hand-held vacuum cleaner.

The Roomba is a clever guy (or girl) and uses clever technology and components to refrain itself from jumping off stairs and drop offs. Wires, carpet tassels and everyday clutter is no problem for the robot as he will happily navigate himself round your home, cleaning as he goes.

The Roomba 550 has been designed specifically for pet owners, that have lots of unwanted hair lying around their home. This modified device is able to collect amazing amounts of pet hair in a single cleaning cycle, and will keep your pet entertained at the same time!

Last Word On The Robot

Roomba reviewThe main benefit of the Roomba is the amount of work it can get through in a week. With this constant vacuuming of your floors, they will soon be the happiest they have ever been and obviously the cleanest.

Scheduling the robot to clean when you are asleep or at work is highly recommended, although not when you first receive him. It's advised that during his first few cleans, you babysit him, enabling you to witness which obstacles will obstruct him from his work.
