Rosacea, or often-called acne rosacea is a skin disorder, which leads towards redness or pimple on the areas of your body like the nose, forehead, cheekbones and chin. It may looks like acne in a great deal due to inflamed pimples or redness of the rosacea. It generally happens to human body in the middle age among 30 to 60. Rosacea is a facial rash and it may be transient, recurrent or persistent. Experts called it as a chronic, inflammatory and progressive skin condition that may affects you in the adult age. This is the reason why sometime many refer to it as adult acne but in reality this is not acne. Sometimes it has been watched that Rosacea can affect the trunk and upper limbs of the human body.

The true fact behind the happening of Rosacea is now thought to be the damages of skin done by sun rays. Sun damages may support fibers of the small blood vessels just under the surface of the skin thus allowing the blood vessels to become permanently dilated. The fluid starts to lick from the damaged blood vessels hence resulting in blotchy red spots. In such a scene, swelling may occur but not usually so prominent that can be visible. The very first sign for Rosacea is small red pimples and pustules. In the later stage the skin tissue will swell and starts thickening around the affected areas. If not treated with care then it eventually the redness and swelling becomes permanent.

Presently the treatment for Rosacea is yet to be revealed properly. This is the reason why experts say that presently there is no cure for Rosacea. But, yes it can be controlled with proper care. The goal behind the treatment for rosacea is to eliminate signs of such skin disorder. Even it can stop the condition from getting worse. With proper treatment symptoms behind rosacea can be prevented if diagnosed in the first stage. It may preserve you from a certain and severe complication. There is also Metronidazole gel or cream available that can be used occasionally or on long-term basis to help prevent rosacea. This gel or cream can be applied to the affected areas while taking antibiotics orally. This generally happens in severe cases for rosacea.
