Rosanne Barr for President - Yay or Nay

Ranked #9,154 in Culture & Society, #187,292 overall

Rosanne Barr - Vote Rosanne Barr President of the United States of America

Rosanne Barr for President of the United States. Would you have believed this if you had heard nothing in the News about Rosanne running for President and your local Newspaper just arrived on your stoop with the headline "Rosanne Barr for President 2012?" It may be difficult to make real of this now but yes Rosanne, blue collar and champion of the working class Sitcom Actress is really running for the position of Commander in Chief.

You may say what's her angle or how is she qualified?... and I would answer how is any of our recent candidates qualified. Look at the state of our Government. At this point I'm willing to take a chance on someone who is willing to step out of her box and into the media frenzy of a presidential election just to deliver a message that she is passionate about. She's got balls!

Rosanne herself tweeted that she is only running to say what needs to be said on behalf of the American people. See Twitter quote from the Examiner.

Take Sides: Rosanne Barr Debate

Are you giving Rosanne Barr a Yay or Nay?

Loading

Yay

MarigoldTortelli says:

She's the only person who would speak her mind and not think about what her party wants her to say. She wouldn't be in anyone's pocket. She may have her faults, but an honest and genuine politician is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

mypotlpeople says:

Why not?

MonikaWeise says:

Definitely yay. She has common sense and would whip this country into shape.

SmartChica says:

I say reruns of Roseanne for four years.

cffutah says:

when you've hit rock bottom, can't go anywhere but up, bring on Roseanne!

BigGirlBlue says:

She does have a serious side and I think she would be an interesting candidate to stir things up. I honestly don't think she could do any worse. And if we are real, the president is not just one person but a team of people. If I had a choice of a Hollywood female type for President it would be Geena Davis or Meryl Streep.

Jewelsofawe says:

I'm a fan of hers, so she gets a yay from me!

newbizmau says:

At present I'm very dissatisfied with our current candidates. Rosanne has as good a chance as any at this point. I applaud her for having the courage to be heard. What other women are running for president? Go Rosanne! She's got balls.

Nay

chrisssy says:

Absolutely not I hate her

MiaBellezza says:

Her comedy mixed with travesty of justice might work, but overall I give her a nay.

Edutopia says:

She'd make for a horrible president but can make for a useful candidate to help influence the national discourse so let her run and see what happens.

davespeed says:

I'm going to have to say "nay" on Rosanne. As you might know, she's not the first comedian to run for president. Comedian Pat Paulson ran several times, beginning, I believe, in 1968.

Tipi says:

Unbelievable Maurice...but a fun concept, you made my head spin! My security word fits Roseanne perfectly, "twitlaugh"!

nyclittleitaly says:

No way. I din't want to see this crotch rubbing person anywhere near the white house.

SudokuNut says:

Nay! Although I'd pick her over any of the Republicans running right now.

AttorneyForFreedom says:

Ron Paul is the only choice if you support freedom.

blusammi says:

if obama or rosie wins i'm moving to china where at least they admit they are communist

Upon-Request says:

Nay - funny, but not a good fit for POTUS

linhah says:

Obama first, then Roseanne.

Well I don't really get a say in American elections, but at the moment I'm tired of politics so Rosanne sounds like an breath of fresh air.

If we are going to get comedians running for president I'd much rather see Stewart/Colbert (or Colbert/Stewart).

Roseanne for president is a bit of a stretch for me but by the time I'm down here, I guess she may have possibilities...but I don't know what they are.
  • lisadh Feb 7, 2012 @ 10:33 am | delete
Roseanne's funny, but I wouldn't vote for her for president.
  • lestroischenes Feb 6, 2012 @ 3:46 am | delete
If she's anything like the character she played in her shows, then she is just what's needed to sort out the whole world! (I'd like a few details of her approach before I voted for her though). Do you know what her approach is? What does she stand for? More please!

I am a fan of Rosanne I don't live in the states so not much I can say about this topic, we have enough problems with the prime minister here who needs to be re-elected...
