I started drawing roses when I was in college, literally drawing my inspiration from the Jackson & Perkins catalogs that would come to my parent's house. Now I make a point of going out and getting my own rose photos to use as reference. I've also discovered the joys of digital drawing/painting, although I still think drawing a rose is one of the easiest things to draw.

It was these illustrations that I saw when I was a small child that inspired me to want to draw and paint flowers later. Although these are prints from paintings, not drawings, this style still influenced my drawings.
