I love this movie and book! What I find so captiving is the way Rosemary Woodhouse played by Mia Farrow is drawn into this web of conspiracy by her husband and seemingly innocent neighorbors, the Castevets played by Ruth Gordon and Sidney Blackmer. Ruth Gordon won an Oscar for best supporting actress.

In retrospect it would seem that Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby was cursed from its, uh,....inception. Mia Farrow was served with divorce papers by her then husband Frank Sinatra's lawyer, which probably added to her harrowing performance in the latter half of the film.
A year after its release, Polanski's pregnant wife Sharon Tate was gruesomely murdered in their home by followers of Charles Manson. In December of 1980, John Lennon was murdered outside of the Dakota, the building where he lived, and where Rosemary's Baby had been filmed.
