Roswell the TV Series

Roswell is a science fiction series that aired in the United States for three seasons on the WB from 1999-2002. The show follows a group of teenage aliens living in Roswell, New Mexico during the time of the show's airing. Roswell, New Mexico is known for the purported 1947 UFO incident, and the show follows the aliens while they deal with human teen life, and try to figure out where they came from.

The pilot for the television series was based on the Roswell High young adult book series, there is more information about the books towards the bottom of this lens.

This page focuses on the three seasons of the television series, with lots of fun things for fans of the series, and information for those who've never seen it.

There's truth to every rumor...

Roswell Show Trailer

This one minute trailer is for the beginning of the show, and is really worth a watch (a lot of trailers fail, in my opinion, but I like this one).

Roswell Trivia!

Heath Ledger auditioned for Max Evans.

Nick Wechsler, who plays Kyle Valenti, auditioned for four roles on the show.

The show was constantly under the threat of cancellation. During the first season fans of the show sent in tiny Tabasco sauce bottles to the WB network to show their support of the show. After this, the show was moved to a new night and time and renewed for a second season.

They didn't use real Tabasco sauce on set. They did in the beginning but the actors kept running off the set for water and their eyes were watering during filming, so they started using V8 Berry Splash.

The pilot episode was 20th Century Fox's highest testing episode they'd ever done.

The series was filmed in Covina, California, USA.

The Crashdown Cafe was purchased by fans and while the UFO has been taken down and the cafe has been renamed, it is still running.

The newspaper clippings shown in the credits are real newspaper clippings from after the 1947 crash.

Michael and Maria (Season 2)

A Love Story

One of the main attractions the show offers is the relationships between the characters, especially the love story. A quick glance through Roswell's soundtrack reveals the heavy love story theme of the show, particularly between Max and Liz, and Maria and Michael. It wouldn't be fitting to make a page about the show without mentioning the very complicated, moving, love stories the show follows.

A Little Something Extra for the Fans

This is a DVD extra from Season 2 of Roswell. It's a 5 minutes 45 second video showing memorable couple moments

Roswell on DVD

In 2008 the Roswell DVDs were re-released with Katherine Heigl more prominently featured on the covers of the DVDs, due to her recent fame from the television series Grey's Anatomy. Nothing else has been changed on the 2008 DVD release from the original DVD release.

Due to licensing issues, songs on the DVD in the actual episodes of Roswell have been changed from their original airing. Buying licenses to songs that were in the original airings of the episodes cost too much money, so the original music supervisors from the show handpicked new songs to for the episodes on DVD. A number of the original songs, mainly those from the Roswell Soundtrack CD, were still put on the DVDs, including Roswell's theme song "Here With Me" by Dido.
