What happened in Roswell - left Roswell

Having been born and raised here in Roswell, New Mexico, the infamous UFO Crash of 1947 was nothing new to us "locals", and we've all heard the stories of the "debris" leaving Roswell -

Stanton Friedman came across the story in the early 1980s and began the search for information and witnesses. Mr. Friedman came to Roswell looking for the public information officer at Roswell Army Air Field in 1947. That officer was Lt. Walter Haut. Fortunately, Lt. Haut still resided in Roswell and remembered the press release and the orders from his commanding officer. This investigation led by Mr. Friedman led to others both military and private who had information to add to the Roswell Incident story. In the late 1980s were Don Schmitt, Kevin Randle and Tom Carey were added to the list of investigators.

In the early part of 1990 it was decided that all the information being gathered on the Roswell Incident needed to be made available to the general public. Lt. Haut and Glen Dennis found a desirable location, this was done with the help of local realtor Max Little. The museum was opened to the public in 1992.

Many visitors come to do research and make it a point to return periodically for updates. Yet, many visitors just come to my home town "to be where it happened".

The museum has out grown it's current location, and plans are in the works for a newer upscale building that will consist of 1 square city block of space.
