Round Tuits - How Can You Get Anything Done Without Them?

If you can't get anything done in your life, or you are convinced you could if only you could get a round tuit, then this lens is for you.

This lens is devoted to Round Tuits, but will also discuss other Tuits and the superior nature of round tuits.

Identifying Tuits

Tuits come in a variety of sizes, colors and shapes.

Square Tuits - These tuits get a bad rap, and deservedly so. You can't accomplish much with a square tuit. Square tuits are identified by their 4 sides, and the word "tuit" stamped, burned, screened, painted, printed or otherwise attached to its face. Getting a square tuit is essentially meaningless and worthless.

Blue Tuits - Effectively any color despite its name, and made of solid wood, plastic or other inert material, these "devices" are designed to look like those little things you stick in your ear to allow you to make phone calls. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THESE. Blue Tuits will not allow you to make phone calls. They can be distinguished by the words Blue Tuit on the side and the lack of signal strength or phone connectivity.

Round Tuits - These are the real deal. Getting a round tuit means finally being able to do all those things you've been putting off. To get a round tuit signals the end of any periods of procrastination, doubt or laziness. Round tuits can be identified by their lack of sharp edges and are stamped or otherwise marked with the word "tuit". Round tuits may be of any size, but should be light enough to carry and small enough to fit in a pocket for easy storage. Keychains are great for this. Extremely large or heavy round tuits cannot be carried, thus permitting excuses due to proximity, and very small or flimsy round tuits can be lost, swallowed, destroyed or otherwise made ineffective, thus canceling the effects of any gumption or stick-to-it-iveness.

Hop Tuits - A close cousin to Round Tuits, Hop Tuits can be any shape, size or color but are characterized by their ability to start fires, make loud noises and/or otherwise jar the procrastinator into action. Typical Hop Tuits are big sticks, firearms or virtually anything else that make people move faster when presented. Hop Tuits are activated not by giving them to the user, but by brandishing them at the target and activating them by shouting "Hop Tuit!". This usually makes the target do just that, erasing any laziness or procrastination.

Round Tuits are generally more popular for personal use because they require no damage, no explosions and no yelling.

Stick Tuits - Craftily shaped like ordinary sticks with the word "tuit" stamped or otherwise affixed to the side, these tuits are useful once you have gotten a Round Tuit. Stick Tuits allow one to continue doing what they are doing once a Round Tuit has been acquired.

Many people make the mistake of getting a Round Tuit, but then fail to Stick Tuit.

"Well, I see you got a Round Tuit, Bob."
"Yeah, and now I just gotta Stick Tuit, Pete."
"Hey, good for you!"

Note: Round Tuits should not be confused with Moovons. Moovons are small sub-molecular particles that fly through the air and accumulate over time on people. The toleration by the general populace is unknown, but as time goes on, everyone eventually collects enough moovons to force them to relocate to a new place. Moovons apparently accumulate faster during times of stress, embarrassment, intoxication, exhaustion and fear.

People will often be heard saying "I better get a moovon!" to indicate that they are near saturation, followed by quick relocation. Although moovons can force people to change locations, they can't really force anyone to do anything, thus the superiority of Round Tuits.

Moovons are too small to see, but collect naturally throughout the day.

How To Make a Round Tuit For Yourself

Here are instructions for making your own round tuit (assuming you have the gumption to start in the first place).

You will need:

A square object
A saw
A first aid kit
An iron "tuit" brand
A fire
A bucket of cold water
A telephone
Good medical insurance
A round object
A Sharpie(tm) marker
A friend with good penmanship
  1. First, find a square object. You will need to make it round.
  2. Next, find a saw and round off the edges of the square object. Keep cutting until you get a circle.
  3. Cut self on saw.
  4. Open first aid kit and stop bleeding.
  5. When the bleeding has stopped and you've come to after having passed out from the pain and sight of blood, warm up the fire.
  6. Next, put the "tuit" brand into the fire and wait until it's red hot.
  7. Grab the iron out of the fire (NO, the OTHER end!)
  8. Slip burnt hand into bucket of water. Curse.
  9. Dial hospital on the phone.
  10. Go to hospital. Endure laughing as EMTs, nurses and doctors enjoy your predicament. Be thankful that they all have round tuits.
  11. Return home and decide never to suggest steps 1-10 to ANYONE.
  12. Find round object.
  13. Open marker and realize that your hands are too heavily bandaged to write.
  14. Call friend on telephone to come over.
  15. Give friend round object and marker. Instruct friend to write "tuit" on the round object.
  16. Success! You now have got a round tuit.
  17. Wait, your friend left and...

Darnit, friend got a round tuit and took it home. Man.
  18. Think about starting over and then decide to say the heck with it and watch T.V. instead.

The procrastinator in me had wanted to get in another episode of that show that I'm hooked on before commenting on this lens but I pushed her to a Round Tuit LATER and note that this is a great lens FIRST :).

Tears streaming down the cheeks ~ even funnier than Zig Ziglar's TUIT tales! ;-) My Aunt Lorraine had the best time handing these out when I was a teen back in the 70's. Thanks for the belly laugh-of-the-day :D

Got a Round Tuit from a local business fella today, so I decided not to put off commenting. Enjoyed reading others' quips & stories, too :D Couldn't help but wonder if you're too busy making RT's for other people to swing by the lens as often as you'd like, true, JHF? ;-) Kudos! Very cool idea, Karen. Although I don't know much about the pop up spiral part, maybe a simplified game concept along the lines of mother-may-I, or some other need-a-key type game with colored tuits. Can't do X without Y... I like it. Good luck to you on the concept!

This is a true story about Peek-A-Boo. Get ready to laugh and cry all at the same time. This one you can share with your pals. I had a stroke at 37 yrs old. After several years of learning to grow my life up again I thought I might be ready to date. With a good amount of time courting and encouragement we headed to the bedroom. A while kissing and shyly undressing, under the covers he headed. I immediately said "Peek-A-Boo" and giggled him right on out of the bed, room and house. Again and again I pulled the covers up, then down, with a great big smile and a Peek-A-Boo! It was all over for him, and I was so confused as to why my new playmate didn't want to play anymore. I thought I was all in the know, seeing how I so confidently blurted out (what I thought was) the proper response when someone hides under the covers, or anywhere one hides when those childhood games. I still had quite a bit of re-learning to do much to the dismay of my newly lost play pal. So confused was I. I even told him he could do the Peek-A-Boo, and I would hide. As I proceeded to hide in the cabinet /cupboard in the bathroom. Needless to say a love was lost day and I giggled into the wee hours all by myself, Maybe I was too eager. I was confounded for weeks to come on this subject. It's funny now, but not in the same immature giggly way it was then. Children do the darndest things. It is quite another thing when they are 40 somethin. It is still a quandary today when some days my mentality is just beyond puberty and I am now approaching menopause, How do you get your brain around that? Just call me Sybil, not. Come on now, help a girl out when she's coming up and on over the other side. Wait, was I coming or going? See you on the flip side. I'll get there in my own due time. Thanks for letting me share the mishaps of second chances.
