Royal Wedding: Prince William and Kate Middleton

Planning any wedding is difficult. Now, imagine planning a wedding for more than 2,000 guests while the entire world watches every single move you make. Add on top of that speculation about the choices you have yet to make. Sounds overwhelming, doesn't it?

Keeping up with the details of the Royal wedding can be overwhelming, too. With so much to do and so much news to follow it can be difficult to keep up.

Has the Economy Changed the Royal Wedding?

Her Majest Queen Elizabeth II in 2007Because the Royal Family doesn't want to put too much pressure on the public, some events of the wedding have been scaled back. For example, much was made about Kate Middleton's decision to arrive at Westminster Abbey in a car rather than a carriage. To Prince William and Kate, this seems like a more cost-effective option.

Nonetheless, there are some who are unhappy about the decision, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Yet, it seems as if Queen Elizabeth II should be more understanding. She, too, was married during a difficult time. Read about Queen Elizabeth's wedding to Philip Mountbatten.

For those with questions, here is a quick guide about how to greet and interact with members of the British Monarchy.

Royal engagement photos

Prince William and Kate Middleton engagement photo, released by Clarence House in December 2010Have you read about Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement photos yet? Released in December of 2010, the photos are more casual than the traditional royal engagement photo.

Because the photos lack some of the pomp-and-circumstance of older royal photos, many news outlets have speculated that Prince William and Kate are attempting to position themselves as younger and more hip than their predecessors.

Two photos were released by Clarence House in December. One showed William and Kate in a more formal setting, with William in a suit and Kate wearing a dress. In the second photo, seen on this lens, the couple look more relaxed in a happy embrace.

Lovely lens. I'm an Anglophile and a royal watcher, although I'm an American. I set my alarm and got up in the wee hours to see Charles and Diana's wedding, and I'll definitely do the same when William and Kate wed. They seem to have so much more chance of a happy marriage than William's parents did.

I'm glad you've found an outlet for your overflow at Squidoo. The Royal wedding does seem to catch the interest of most everyone and it seems to be in a nice way. The couple's choices seem to be reflective of their own personalities within the bounds of monarchy. A delightful article. I did see your link on how to meet and interact with royalty, so I will be prepared in case that comes up.
