Royal Wedding Posters For Your Home

Magical and majestic are the first two words that come to mind when I look at the Royal Wedding posters on this page. It's much more than the fan-fare which surrounds the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Royal weddings of the 20th century were stunning. The brides were impeccable.

Here you will find a collection of pictures from the Royal Weddings of the first 10 in line for the throne from HRH The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) through HRH The Princess Royal (Princess Anne). I love looking at the Royal Wedding posters. I hope you enjoy your visit here. Should you want one of these, simply click on it and you can purchase it directly from AllPosters.

Succession Rules for the British Royal Throne

The rules governing the right of succession to the British royal throne are regulated by the Act of Settlement 1701, the Royal Marriages Act 1772 and common law. The throne is restricted to the "legitimate Protestant heirs of the Electress Sophia of Hanover, and is order by male-preference cognatic primogeniture." (extracted from Wikipedia)

Here is my interpretation of how it works:
  • Next in line is the is the current ruler's legitimate descendants (unless they already appear higher in the line of succession.)
  • A person's children rank in the following order: Oldest son is first, followed by all other sons in birth order, then all daughters are ranked by their birth order. So, all sons are ahead of all daughters.
  • At the time of inheritance of the throne, the heir must be a Protestant and enter into communion with the Church of England.
  • Any heir who is Roman Catholic, becomes Roman Catholic, or marries a Roman Catholic is not included in the line of succession.
  • If parents are not married to each other at the time of birth, the child will be permanently excluded from the line of succession.

Royal Wedding Starring Fred Astaire

A 1951 Classic

A fun Fred Astaire musical. The entertaining plot includes Astaire and Jane Powell as a brother-and-sister dancing team who travel to London at the time of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding. The movie may be most famous for Astaire's dance with a hat rack and his duet with Powell, "How Could You Believe Me When I Said I Loved You (When You Know I've Been a Liar All My Life)

Your lens is nicely done and I really enjoyed my visit. I hope Prince William's marriage is more successful than his parents' marriage was; all the same, it is my personal feeling that if Diana Spencer had not married into the royal family, she may never have been able to reach as many people as she did. She would have been loved, without a doubt, but I'm glad she had the opportunity to reach out to, and receive, so many people. She will always be one of my favorite individuals, in terms of public figures.

I was here, regretting that I hadn't gotten this done first. Classy presentation. Good luck!
