Roy Halladay: Ace of the Toronto Blue Jays

Roy Halladay was born on Saturday, May 14, 1977, in Denver, Colorado. Halladay was 21 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 20, 1998, with the Toronto Blue Jays. He now is the ace of Toronto's starting pitching staff.

"He lays it on the line, man," Gibbons said of Halladay. "He bleeds. That's why he's the best."

This year Halladay was the lone all-star representative for Toronto and represented them well by pitching a scoreless inning in the game. Coined by former Blue Jays announcer Tom Cheek, his nickname is a reference to the famous Arizona gunslinger "Doc" Holliday.
