Roy Halladay: Ace of the Toronto Blue Jays

 

Roy Halladay was born on Saturday, May 14, 1977, in Denver, Colorado. Halladay was 21 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 20, 1998, with the Toronto Blue Jays. He now is the ace of Toronto's starting pitching staff.

"He lays it on the line, man," Gibbons said of Halladay. "He bleeds. That's why he's the best."

Roy Halladay Make Another All-Star Appearance 

Roy Halladay makes another appearance in the All-Star game. This was his 5th trip to the mid-summer classic. This year Halladay was the lone all-star representative for Toronto and represented them well by pitching a scoreless inning in the game. Halladay got some defensive help when he gave up at hit but the runner was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a double.

Harry Leroy Halladay III (born May 14 1977), nicknamed Doc, is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher. He currently pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays. He received his nickname from the famous Arizona gunslinger, "Doc" Holliday. He has played for the Jays since 1998 and was the team's first draft selection (17th overall) in the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft. He bats and throws right-handed. His outstanding stamina and control, along with devastating movements on an already impressive arsenal, established Halladay as one of the leading pitchers in the American League.
