Beyond Limits

Khanser

There are no derivatives in love;

I know because,
in the complexity of emotions,
the heart does not differentiate
but integrates with the beloved;

The riddles of the universe
are etched in the equations
that go beyond infinity;
Calculus was not designed
to measure the intensity of my passion
written in the stars;

For I love without bounds.

Essential Things That I'll Probably Miss On Christmas

The Philippines- specifically and ideally situated in the Southeast Asia- is the only Christian country in the Far East. Bounded by Buddhist,Taoist countries in the North; Hindu, Islam in the West and South; Pacific ocean in its East, foreigners- especially the westerns- usually wonder how could it be? Why is it the Philippines a Christian country? Well, what else the Spain could have done in its almost 400 years of domination in the Philippines? There could have been nothing else but to inject Christianity. And thus, Christmas was born in this country.

Anyway, that is not what I am trying to write this time...

Fast forward==>>

These are the things that I'll probably miss this Christmas season:

1. Lighting up our Christmas tree

I used to light up our Christmas tree ( putting some gifts underneath) on the past Christmas. But this time, I think it is impossible. How can I? It has been a year since our electrical supply was cut-off--maybe you know what are the probable cause, he he!--and I am running out of time--and finances--to get it restored. Anyway, a lamp--or candle-- will do to ignite joy and to spark hope to move forward.

2. Attending the 'Misa de Gallo' or Mass of the Rooster

I used to attend the Mass of the Rooster during the Christmas season. In the Philippines, it is done on 16th to 25th days of December. Most of the people strive to complete this 10-day Christian activity because it is believed that when you are able to complete it, your wish will be granted.

3.The Fireworks Display

I used to witness fireworks displays in the past Christmas seasons--different shapes, sizes, and colors light up above. But, since it is still banned here ( Davao City alone) for 5 years now ( more or less)due to the rise of fireworks-related accidents, I'll not be able to see amazing, fantastic glowing of different colors this time.

4. Star-gazing with special someone

Star-gazing with special someone is one of the most romantic moment for me. I usually do it ...to be continued..
