To answer that question-- Large stores like Home Depot have very few cabinets in stock (it takes up a lot of space) so they encourage you to "special order" their cabints and then the store will add-on a huge mark up in price. Buying online cuts out the middle man, try rtacabinetstore.com

Another good point to make. If you use a combination of 30" and 42" cabinets you can create a custom look with the staggered sized cabinets (using 42" cabinets in the corner cabinet to create different shadow lines). The crown molding really capped it off
