I looked in retail stores and online.. the best place I have found to buy kitchen cabinets is an RTA cabinet Site. The one I found with the best prices is: www.rtacabinetstore.com

To answer that question-- Large stores like Home Depot have very few cabinets in stock (it takes up a lot of space) so they encourage you to "special order" their cabints and then the store will add-on a huge mark up in price. Buying online cuts out the middle man, try rtacabinetstore.com

I compared prices and the RTA cabinets were on average $26.00 less than Home Depot. PLUS they are made of real wood, home depot is using particle board.

These prices are very low and the quality is better. I noticed that there is no particle board. Its solid fronts and paneled sides. Very nice.

Another good point to make. If you use a combination of 30" and 42" cabinets you can create a custom look with the staggered sized cabinets (using 42" cabinets in the corner cabinet to create different shadow lines). The crown molding really capped it off

You can also save a lot of money on your countertops if you use granite tiles instead of a solid granite top.

Do you know of anyone that makes modifications for RTA cabinets, since they only carry standard options... I am looking for things like pullout baskets, trash cans, appliance garages, etc..

Home Depot used to carry pre-assembled cabinets, but I see where a lot of their stores are no longer selling them. Anybody know why? What is the difference between RTA Kitchen Cabinets and the Pre-Assembled Cabinets that they sell or used to sell?

I was skeptical about the quality of knockdown cabinets, or ready-to-assemble cabinets because I was burned before by the Ikea version of RTA furniture. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered a sample cabinet.... easy to assemble, solid construction... I may be converting

All of the (RTA) Ready-To-Assemble Cabinets come with assembly instructions and it really is pretty simple (you can see a sample assembly sheet if you go to www.rtacabinetstore.com/installation.php). If you get to a point where you need assistance, there is a contact number for help.

    Jeff351-

If you go to www.rtacabinetstore.com/resources.php you will find links to a couple of documents that can help you layout and design your own kitchen. I also have a lens on kitchen design that might help. That should be enough info to design your own kitchen.

I am curious about the RTA Cabinets for my a rental property that I am remodeling, but I have never tried to design the layout for a kitchen before... any suggestions on how to do it without hiring a designer or architect?

Ready to Assemble Cabinets are the way to go. They are made of real wood versus the cheap particle board, and they are a better price than anything I have found.

The RTA cabinets are great! They are east top put together, except teh draw base (it just took some time).... and the look of the cabinet is very professional. Try them...

The cabinets are real wood. I looked at other stores cabinets and they are made of particle board or cardboard. Only the fronts were real.
I am very impressed with the quality of this product!

At first I was skeptical about the quality of RTA's products as well as their claim on how easy they are to install. Now that I have received and installed the euro-vanity I can attest to it's high quality and ease of installation. I highly recommend these products to all weekend warriors!!!
