Tips for Having a Rummage Sale

Clothing - Hang up your clothes as it makes it easier for people to sort through. Plus it is more likely to catch their attention.

Pricing - Price everything or group items that are the same price onto one table.

Be willing to negotiate - It doesn't matter if items are even marked as low as a $1, some people will haggle the price.

Be prepared for early birds - Some folks will drop by early for your rummage sale. In fact, some anxious bargain hunters may show up the day before! If you are in the city limits, check your permit to see if early sales are permissible.

Keep your money in a lock box - Keep your money in a a box that is made to hold money. Once I used a cute box that someone actually tried to buy. They had no idea it was my money.
