Why Runes
Runes have been used for thousands of years. They were more than likely originally used as a means of divination and as a part of religious rituals and over time evolved into written letters, words, and sentences.Each mark is in a straight line from a central point, making them more easily carved using a knife or other tool into wood and stone. Runes found today can be made of stone or wood or even hard plastic.
One can "cast the runes" using small sticks which are drawn from a bag and cast upon the ground. The resultant patterns and shapes formed from the thrown sticks are then interpreted based upon what rune character has been made.
Runes are symbols from an earlier age that still have meaning for people today.

Made from natural willow branches with the bark still on them. Each rune is burnt with the symbols of the Futhark rune set, with 25 runes in total including the blank rune. Only natural staining agents (linseed oil) is used to cure the runes, with no varnish or unnatural substances. The branches are tempered by the elements of fire, water, earth, air, and time. Each set of runes is cut from the same branch in order to assure continuity of being. The magical properties of willow are well placed in the cultures of Nordic, Wiccan, Druidic traditions. Each rune is woodburned into the wood NOT stamped.

- Getting the set is the just the first step. The next one is how to cast and make interpretations. There is a new book that does metaphysical/spiritual interpretations of the symbols and several casting spreads. These are uplifting and loving interpretations, not the dark and sinister ones I've seen in other places. The title of the book is "The Metaphysical Power of the Runes" The publisher is Conscious Kernels. It is available in different formats. - I had not heard of runes before - interesting! If one wanted they could use something like a cordless air compressor<./a> air tool to create some modern runes.
