Vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition
Main Characters
Himura Kenshin is an ex-hitokiri formerly known as the "Hitokiri Battousai" who now wanders around fictional Japan to help all the people who are in trouble in order to pay for the murders he committed during the Bakumatsu. When he arrives in Tokyo, Kenshin meets a young woman named Kamiya Kaoru who invites him to live in her dojo despite finding out that Kenshin is the "Battousai". Significant instances transpire from that point, and Kenshin establishes lifelong relationships with many people, including ex-enemies. Cosplay Gallery

Rurouni Kenshin vs. Inuyasha
I asked my friend and he says Inuyasha and that I don't know what I'm missing. So yeah, I know there are a lot of InuYasha fans out there so here is your chance to convince me why you think it is so great or not. Besides choosing who you think would win in a fight also compare the main characters, storyline, cast, fighting techniques, etc.

Look at Shishio Makoto, if you call him evil look at what people did to him. He was burnt by the own comrades. Who is evil here? Those who were declared as good because they fought the Shogunate? Or that one who has been deceived by them?
Kenshin seems to be a good guy - maybe he is - but for the other side in Bakumatsu he was like a grim reaper. Everything has two sides you know!
Well.. It's not as much fantasy like InuYasha but I prefer it over InuYasha, just because it's more realistic. Inuyasha stands up after being impaled, Kenshin doesn't really.
That's my opinion.

i like them both equally. they both have good storylines and characters. i think this is one of those you gotta see for yourself type deals, but i vote inuyasha because it was the first on i've seen and i like the characters personalities can be really amusing. same for Rurouni Kenshin, too but i pick inuyasha.

Inuyasha rocks. At first I was thinking what is the big deal over these shows but then my friends got me hooked. They're both telling stories about skilled samurais, but Inu Yasha has more comedy mixed in and the characters are not as bland. They are both great but if I had to recommend only one, I would go for Inu Yasha.

- There are just so many such fantastic episodes! But I would rate two of them as the very best - One, the episode where Kenshin masters the Ama kakeru ryu no hirameki... Sejiro Hiko knows that he would die when Kenshin masters the technique, but he so kindly offers himself to his pupil... that scene.. always makes me cry. How many people would offer their lives to another person? Only Parents, and the person who loves us with all His or Her heart.. and the way Kenshin discovers how he was running away from his fears and responsibilities, and when he discovers it, and masters the technique? What an episode!
And the next episode is when Sojiro's tight cocoon is cut open by Kenshin - boy, this series is a psychological goldmine with so many lessons and valour! AWESOME series. My hats off to the people who've created this masterpiece!
