How to Make Your Russian Bride Happy

In my humble opinion, Russian and Eastern European women are pretty easy to please... as far as you know what you are doing...

Russian culture is different and so is Russian mentality, so don't try to figure out a Russian bride before learning about her culture. You may screw things up pretty badly.

Here are some tips which will help you not only to please your Russian woman, but save your own back as well:

1. Forget about feminism with your Russian bride. Russian women are NOT feminists. They like to be admired and protected by their men. They want their men to be real "gentlemen", which means you need to open door for her, hold her coat, pay for her dinner at a restaurant (and for her Mom if she is eating out with you), always carry grocery bags and lift heavy objects. Russian women like to be different than men. They value their femininity and like to emphasize it with their clothing, gestures and behavior.

2. Russian women like gifts. No, this is not because they are materialistic. Gift giving is a huge part of Russian culture, so holiday or not, you are expected to give her gifts. In Russia they say that it is not the gift that matters, but the attention, so you don't need to go nuts and buy her diamond jewelry for every holiday. Small thoughtful things are the best. Flowers are always good (just remember not get her an even number of flowers, because in Russia you brink even flowers only when someone dies), chocolates, accessories. Show your Russian bride that you care; this will make her happy.

3. Give her compliments. All women like compliments, especially Russian. It is not uncommon for Russian men to give compliments to women, whether they know them or not. In fact, it is expected. It is absolutely normal for a Russian boss to say to his worker that she looks nice. Men who give women compliments are considered to be well-mannered.

In the United States it is rare to hear a compliment from someone who is not related to you, so make sure you give your Russian wife enough compliments, so she doesn't miss all the attention she got in Russia.
