RV Parks in Sarasota, Florida.

Sarasota and neighboring Bradenton, Nokomis, and Venice all have R.V. parks. Some also include manufactured homes in the same park.  Sarasota has several RV parks. They are very different one from another. Four are featured here, each with very different settings. More will soon be added. My husband and I drove around to all of these parks and the pictures on this page were all made by us, Kuyper Photography.

Sarasota's RV parks are very different one from another. Three are shown here, each with very different settings. There are cabins at Myakka State Park, too.

Sun-N-Fun calls itself "Florida's Friendliest R.V. Resort with lots of recreational activities including tennis and shuffleboard courts, pitch and putt area, bocci ball court, putting green and miniature golf, lawn bowling petanque courts, two 18 person hot tubs, and horseshoe pit. The swimming pool is currently being renovated.

Turtle Beach Campground has none of the above, but it is right on the beach. There is a laundry and showers.

Windward Isle is right off I-75 in southern Sarasota County. It has manufactured homes and RVs to buy or rent. It is a member of Passport America which has 1558 participating campgrounds throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Sun-N-Fun Map

This large map is located at the entrance to Sun-N-Fun RV park. You may not be able to read the details, but, it will give you an idea of the size of the park, It is large and very well laid out.

Lake Ibis, Sun-N-Fun RV Park

As you can see, the lake is surrounded by some of the manufactured homes. If you decide to stay here, better make a reservation as early as possible. This is one popular place and it was just featured in our local newspaper.

Sun-N-Fun RV Park

The Butterfly Park at Sun-N-Fun is filled with plants to attract butterflies. There are benches for people to sit and watch statuary and the beautiful insects. There is also a small pond at the edge of the park.

Residents are allowed to bring 2 pets, but we didn't meet up with any on our visit. The park has two good sized dog run areas.

Sun-N-Fun

Sun-N-Fun is one of the RV parks that includes manufactured homes to rent or to buy. Many of their residents are full time home owners. The RVs and manufactured homes are generally kept in different areas of the huge park.

One recreation vehicle and one vehicle for transportation are allowed at each site. People are requested to park only on their own site. There is a Recycling Center for aluminum, plastic, glass and paper waste. People are requested to take their garbage to the compactor at the Recycling Center. All public buildings are non-smoking.

Woodland Hall at Sun-N-Fun

Woodland Hall houses the billiards room, ceramic studio, 2 large meeting rooms, the laundry and a phone. There is a large parking lot in front. The Butterfly Garden is off the parking lot.

RV park pool ROBERTSDALE, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a 3-year-old girl has drowned in a swimming pool at an RV park in Baldwin County. The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office says the girl drowned Sunday afternoon at the Styx River RV Resort.

Turtle Beach Campground

As you can see, the marina is just across the road from the campground entrance. Very convenient for boat users. There is also a good restaurant next to the marina, Turtles Restaurant, and a more informal restaurant at the marina, when you tire of cooking.

Want to camp right on the beach? Want to spend your days mostly soaking up the Autumn or Winter sun on the beach? Like to swim in the Gulf of Mexico? Going to leave any pets at home?

Turtle Beach Campground is the place for you. This is really basic camping or tenting, no manufactured homes here. There is an extra charge for 50 amp. electric service, air conditioning, electric heat, or hot water. Cable hookup with 50 channels is also available for extra charge. There is one small building with showers and laundry equipment. Picnic tables and camp stoves round out the extras.

Tent Among the RVs at Turtle Beach Campground

There are no permanent residents here. Advance reservations are required and a maximum of 30 nights during any 45 day period is the longest anyone can stay. No pets are allowed and only 1 vehicle at each site.

This is a small park. You see all of it in these videos. Just one lane with camp sites on both sides. But, remember, it IS ON THE BEACH!

Myakka River State Park Camping

Myakka River State Park, 13208 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL, 941-361-6511. For reservations call Reserve America (800) 362-3521. Campsites- include electric and water are $26 per night and Cabins are $70 per night now in October, but are subject to change.
Pets are allowed in the campground, but, not in cabins or other buildings in the park. There are washers, dryers, and showers in the Old Prarie section of the campground. There is no swimming in the park, but it is only 30 - 45 minutes from Siesta Key beaches.

Windward Isle RV Park

This RV park, 1 Catamaran Drive, Sarasota, has RVs and manufactured homes. If you are looking to move here, this may be the place for you. The community bulletin board lists 10 units for sale by the homeowners. The RVs and homes are in different areas of the park, There is a small pond in the middle with sign saying No Swimming, No Fishing.

Windward Isle has heated pool, telephone, shuffle board, putting green, recreation hall (pool table, exercise room, library), horseshoe court, bocce court, golf league. No pets are allowed. The office was closed for lunch when I visited, so my information is limited. For Reservations call: (941) 922-3090.

    I have thought for a long time if you had an Rv it would be so cool to travel around from place to place to place. I live on Amelia Island Florida. I don't think we have an Rv park here right on the island. I have heard sarasota is a really nice place. I have a few friends who have told me about it. great lens you have.
